The final was 67-62. P-burg had a 25 point lead and just played some freshman for a while that got AC back in it.

:thumb: Even though our girls and boys lost they still played an AMAZING game and I'm very..very..very..proud of both our teams...even if they aren't the best in the reigon they play their ***** off , their heart is in the game, and they have fun...and thats al that matters.....GREAT PLAYING AC..IM PROUD OF YA!!!

This was an awesome game. AC was behind by 25 points at one point to come back and have a shot to win the game had a few things better happened. Great played game by both clubs. P-Burg played a great first half and was doing a good job at controlling the pace of the game. In the second half, AC took over with there up and down game and got back into the ballgame.
Magoffin County would handle Allen Central pretty easily.

This was a game of 2 halfs, in the first half P-burg was hitting everything they threw up and got up big, but in the 2nd half Ac fought back with good D, and it wasnt on freshman it was on the best p-burg had to offer. Good game for both teams although Ac empressed me more showing that they have the will to win, night in and night out. At this point this district is wide open i think, with the Raiders a lil ahead though but the other 3 teams about even, but we will see what happenes friday night when the rebels and the raiders hook up.

You seemed to care before the game. Allen Central is a scrappy team with a lot of heart, they can play, but I don't see them beating Prestonsburg or South Floyd this season, the Bobcats may be in some trouble with them though. Jackie Day tried to get the boys to play conservative early on in the third quarter, which is a questionable call, had he not told them to relax this game would have never been close.

One of the better games you will see all year long....awesome comeback by AC in the 2nd half after being down by 25.....AC started to pick up the pace and P-burg wasnt used to that.....the atmosphere was unbelievable it was like a post-season game.......both teams played an excellent game and congrats to P-burg....and I am as well a man of my word and i will keep the pic but for how long?....lol

Great game to both teams..but I must say AC played an awesome 2nd half..idk what got into them but they brought it back to be a heck of a ball game..can't wait to play the cats again..congrats to the blackcats on their victory and congrats to AC for playin a great game!!:High5:

A Typical game that we see many times. A more talented team gets up big and then lets down. I congratulate AC for thier come back. They have a lot of heart and determination. IMO Pburg has a far superior team, but they need to keep the intensity level up for 4 quarters. This team has size, speed, and the ability to score. I see them as being a force to reckon with in the 15th region. They also have a very deep bench with good guard play and two kids that are 6'4 and 6'6 in Mullins & Patton that will continue to improve as the season progresses.

A fair AC team that led the Bobcats for practically the entire game. I don't think they were ever up 25 against the Rebs. Maybe your the one that should be scared. :shh:

Good Post BCC. They are probably overall the biggest team in the 15th and they all have the ability to score.

The only thing that happened in this game is that Prestonsburg got up by so much and lost all of their intensity. If they put two halves together like they played the first half, they will be unstoppable in the 15th region.

This was great game. I was riught there on the sideline and both teams fought their heart out. I knew AC was good and wouldnt stay down but now you all know that the BEST TEAM won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WAY TO GO CATS
the blackcats owned the court for the first half. then AC made a good comeback but congrats to my blackcats, they never trailed the entire game.

Our whole team played awesome last night. I wanted to name off the ones I thought did best, but I couldn't pick - they were all terrific! Keep it up boys.. If you play all your games (the WHOLE game) like you did the 1st half. We 'MIGHT' just be on our way to Rupp!
I have to give major credit to AC. They're a good team. Alex Hammonds (along with others) did great tonight, I don't see why Alex doesn't start. He came off the bench and suprised a LOT of people from the Burg.
CONGRATS ON YOUR FIRST DISTRICT WIN CATS! KEEP IT UP AND LETS REPEAT AS CONFERENCE CHAMPS!

For one thing, P-Burg isn't as tough as Allen Central is, they proved that the second half. For another thing, Prestonsburg was pulling shots out of there butt in the first half and yes blackcat, they did get lucky to have shot so well. If AC wouldn't has jacked around in the first half and played the whole game, they wouldv'e beat P-Burg easily.

I don't believe anyone is saying the Prestonsburg is not "good enough" to be a contender. And certainly no one with any basketball savy such as yourself would believe that "their team" could shot nearly 70% from the floor the entire ballgame and not become tired at the end after being subjected to a press relentlessly.
BLACKCAT - Am I saying that Prestonsburg got lucky? No. I'm saying their shots were falling and they took advantage of the situation - that's smart basketball. However, Prestonsburg came back down to earth in the 2nd half. I'll also say that Prestonsburg can win this district and they are a region contender, especially after witnessing the play of Leslie, Barnett and Mullins inside last night. Good luck to Prestonsburg the rest of the season.

Much needed.. I have no problem with what some people say, but when Prestonsburg was up 25 and you say that AC is still better or tougher, you're crazy.

You explain to me exactly how I'm whining? I'm not the one on here saying that my team is better than another team after getting beat on their home floor. Or that my team is better than another team with my team down by 25 points. Or saying that it was luck because the other team was hitting shots. You guys can't face the facts that Prestonsburg actually has a descent basketball team for once.
I'm not defending my team by whining. I knew Prestonsburg was better than AC as they have been the past 3 or 4 years (regional tournament appearances would show that). I'm not complaining because AC came back on P-burg, and yes AC had a shot to win the game at the end, but the better team prevailed. So all this crap about P-burg being lucky is getting on my nerves. Beat Prestonsburg and you will get props from me. But blaming a win on luck is childish imo.

wow, this was a great game to watch. It was a little closer than I was hoping, especially after the first half our boys played. It looked as if we were just going to cruise with this one, but give credit to AC, they never hung their heads and kept playing hard. It sure paid off because they about came away with the W. Congrats to the blackcats though. Next time you get a big lead, lets make it easy on the fans and try to add on to to it. lol

Both teams played good games. Prestonsburg should have kept that lead but I knew it was to good to be true. Brooks Herrick came up big at the end of the game when he knocked the ball away from that collins kid and he drawed the foul and he hit them, must make free throws. Congrats to the Blackcats !

The entire game was crazy! P-burg jumped out to a 26 point lead, blew it, then pulled away again. The fans were intense for both sides and the pregame was insane. Who was that #44 that busted the rim? I saw him jump up high and throw one down two handed and the rim broke away and didn't come up. I got a good chuckle out of that. I absolutely loved the night from beginning to end. I would love to see another game like this from Allen Central in the near future. Someone please get back to me on who
#44 is?

I've never banned anyone on this site so obviously you're not talking about me. As far as the ifs and but part, it's not whining at all. You can say if this happened and that happened things would be different. Yeah of course it would be, if I didn't have a scrotum I'd be a girl. If's don't do any good and doesn't change what happens, so just face that your team lost and get after the next team you're playing.

I guess I'm being defensive for Allen Central because they cut a 25 point in the second half and nearly won the game and "some" Prestonsburg fans won't give them any respect. I'm sure if you ask any of the coaches or players, they will tell you that they respect Allen Central. That's just good sportsmenship.
I have no dislike towards Prestonsburg's team whatsoever. I have enjoyed many a contest involving the Blackcats for years and look forward to seeing them more this season. I don't think I have posted anything negative towards Prestonsburg's team in this thread.
The last thing I want to do is offend the players/coaches of Prestonsburg.
I could care less if I offend you BC4FL or not. And don't ask me to keep anything to myself. I don't take orders from those that hide behind a false nickname on a website.

I never said I didn't have respect for AC or coach Martin. If you talked to coach Martin, he would tell you that me and him have been acquainted over the years. AC was having an off night with their shooting. Pburg did play a good game and made some awfully pretty shots..but you have to admit that the way AC came back was almost unbelievable..some mistakes were made by AC in the last couple of minutes in the game..without those mistakes I have a feeling this game could have very possibly went into OT..I'll definitely be there when the two teams play again..it'll be a game to see!
