All In Fun Hillbilly, Would You Agree With My Top 5, Who Would Be Your Top 5?

I got a good laugh out of it!

I agree with your top 3. I don't think that Lorenzon and Smith belong in there. Heck, if you ask me--there have been a lot of players at HIGHLANDS who were better than these 2 (if you want to look at the complete package).

Right off the bat, I would add Frank Jacobs (from NCC). He went on to play at Notre Dame. He was also the states 1st Mr. Football. I think Jeremy Britt also needs to be on the list somewhere.

Then again--I think that we should just start listing great football players, compile a huge list--and then narrow it down from there. We can disqualify them from there.

Couch-QB: Nobody is even close to him. all the records he holds
Alexander-RB: Stud in high school, college, and in the pros. Representing KY proud in the NFL
Parker(Lawrence Co.)-WR: Hands down, went to uk and if not for some bad injuries could of been a serious player, maybe even been in the NFL now(will never know though)

* i played football in Oklahoma for a team called Oklahoma Union. well, this school is just a little 1A school out in the middle of no where and they have a RB by the name of Tim Keeton that is 6'2 and weighs 225 and runs a 4.6 40. He also rushed for 1750 yrds on the season and could literally knock anybody in his way on their butt when he was running the ball. we finished 8-3 on the season. i know this quote is supposed to be about KY players but i thought i would talk about him.

The best football player I have ever laid my eyes on was no question about it Tim Couch. I watched him 4 times and he was amazing. He is the best football player ever to step foot on a high school field in the Bluegrass State IMO.

After Couch the list would look somthing like this in no paticular order:

*Micheal Bush (Male)
*Brian Brohm (Trinity)
[I was at the shoot-out in the state finals Bush's senior year and WOW]
*Shaun Alexander (Boone Co)
*Ben Gudugli ( Highlands ;I butchered that spelling)
*Jacob Tamme (Boyle Co)
*Brett Hamblin (Highlands)
*Jared Lorenzen (Highlands)
*Derek Smith (Highlands)
*Doug Howard (Belfry)
*David Jones (Belfry)
*Arliss Beach (Ashland)
*Micheal West (Lawrence Co)
*Justin Miller (Owensboro)
*Bo Smith (Owensboro)
*Montrell Jones (Male)
*Eric Shealton (Bryan Station)
*Gerald Parker (Lawrence Co)
*Brad Tiller (Sheldon Clark) [The fastest football player I have ever laid eyes on]
*Dennis Johnson (Harrodsburg)
*Derek Homer (Fort Knox)
*Justin Haddix (Breathitt Co)
*Kyle Moore (Breathitt Co)
*Marty Regan(Rockcastle Co)

Now those are only the ones I saw in person. I have heard that Sonny Collins would rival Couch as the all time greatest, but I never got the chance to see him play. There were alot of players that were close to being on it and were left off. A case could be made for many of them, but these IMO are the best ones I ever saw.
