I agree with all of you. Thanks for the input dudes.

I've gotten to riled up over this...I just wish we could get past this stuff, as a country. I thought we were.

That's fair, and fits what Amun-Ra had stated. But I honestly do not think this is indicative of EKY anymore than it is anything south of the Ohio River. Those of un in NKY are considered "Hillbillies" too.

But, would they have requested a new vote if it hadn't made the news, and caused the Antioch, TN. headquarters to put the pressure on them?

It's not my church - you will have to ask the pastor. Regardless of the reason, the pastor did the right thing in calling for a new vote. The first vote should never have taken place but the issue was not going away without a new vote.

No. I still don't have a TV. I thought about running to Best Buy this morning to get one to watch the game but I didn't. Maybe tomorrow. I've been working at least 10 hrs./day since August, so I don't get much time to do much else.

What did Boehner do to embarrass himself? I am getting pretty fed up with politics in general. The illegal corruption bothers me less than what unethical jerks in both parties are able to do get away with legally. People working in our federal government, including elected officials, should be subject to the same laws as private citizens are - but they are exempt from many of the laws that they write.

I would like to see every elected official take a daily oath to tell the truth and to abide by all of the laws that govern our behavior. Alternatively, I would be fine with making dueling legal again - but only for politicians.

Something needs to be done to clean up the way that the federal government conducts its business.

He didn't deny him God, he said he couldn't be a memeber of the church. He can still attend the church.

Finally you say something that I can agree with completely. Both sides of our goverment are corrupt as hell and only out for themselves and those they have special interests with. Both sides have took a dump on our constitution.

I am not so cynical that I believe everybody in politics is corrupt but the good guys are seriously outnumbered by the crooks in Washington. I feel the same way about Kentucky's state government. I am not familiar enough with Virginia to pass judgment on its state government.

However, I was impressed with what I saw when I worked as a contractor for the state of Mississippi. They did some real belt tightening during the recession and the state employees with whom I worked were very professional and I did not witness any political activity the workplace during the 12 months that I was there.

Now that's some strong policy making there!

Think of it as voluntary term limits. Either you serve with dignity and treat your fellow elected representatives with respect or you would not stand for reelection. (Option three would to take full advantage of the Second Amendment and become a really good marksman.)

I'm glad you see how Hoot and JP through that "liar" term around so easily.

It's so easy to call someone a liar, while you hide behind a keyboard......just saying.

You make it easier by repeatedly proving me right. Newt has enough problems with what I consider to be ethical lapses without hacks like you falsely accusing him of being a deadbeat dad and a draft dodger. Whatever shortcomings Gingrich has, he was not rubbing elbows with Marxists and domestic terrorists in the middle of the Cold War and he is not currently supporting the socialist makeover of this country's economy.
