OFFICIAL Bluegrassrivals.com Preseason Mountain Five Winners
#1
First of all, we would like to thank the BGR community for helping us nominate the three men we left out that you thought were most deserving. We hope to do this postseason and preseason yearly to bring a positive light to this forum and give the kids something. The Preseason Five will be presented (either by mail or hand delivered) a ceritificate and this postseason we will be giving plaques. Hopefully we can create two annual awards that players are genuinely glad to have received.

Members of Bluegrass Rivals, I present to you your very first Preseason Mountain Football Five...

Our mountains are graced with some very special talent and to be one of the final 18 nominees is an honor in itself, however through a three part process these five have been picked by a small committee as your first annual Preseason Mountain Five. Congratulations Mr. Canady, Trent, Messer, Olinger, and Hyde!

Yessir, we will do a ten best, plus an overall MVP in the postseason and we're going to try to be able to afford plaques.

Do be honest, I doubt any of us have really seen all of the great talent across the mountains in person. That 5 looks pretty good though.

Congrats to these young men!

I didn't vote. I demand a recount.

^ Those who don't vote really can't complain about the results now can they?
#13

This turned out better than what i think most of us thought it would.
While we would love to have a lot more input, little things like this really gets people interested, and more importantly gives these young men a chance to get their name out there.
Congratulations to these five finalist.

Dont forget the postseason which will carry more awards and hopefully this will start recieving more and more attention. Kudos to all of you who took the time to vote and be a part of this.

Great List, good luck to all
#18
Not saying anything against Olinger, he is a fine receiver. But his stats are 40 receptions for 859 yards compared to Pugh's 50 receptions for 1262 yards which is nearly twice as much per game. These stats coming from the KHSAA website. Pugh has been rated 2nd in AAA ball the past two years.

This is a fine list of some deserving kids but I'd be good money that Carson Whitehead, LB, from Harlan County will be on the list at the end when it matters.

You're right about Carson Whitehead. I look for him to have a similar,if not better, season than Matt Robinson had last season. Also,I agree that the post season list is the one that matters.

Yes But look at the other reciever stats from last year as well. Hazard had 2 other recievers with similar stats as well. Im not knockin the Pugh kid because he is super good.
