The Most Republican/Democratic County in Kentucky
#1
According to msn.com

The Most Republican county in Kentucky is...... Leslie County.
Leslie County is the most Republican county in Kentucky with Romney winning 89.7% of its 2012 vote. About 22.6% of county residents lived in poverty from 2009 through 2013, much higher than the national poverty rate of 15.4% over the same period. Additionally, nearly all of the 11,220 residents identified had as white. Leslie County residents also had low college-attainment rates. Only 7.3% of residents had at least a bachelor’s degree from 2009 through 2013, nearly a quarter of the comparable national rate of 28.8%

The Most Democratic county in Kentucky is..... Jefferson County.
The bluest county in Kentucky is Jefferson County, where Obama won 54.8% of the county’s 2012 vote. While the county voted for Obama in the presidential election, it sent a Republican to the U.S. House of Representatives in each of the last five congressional elections. From 2009 through 2013, the county’s median household income was $46,959, lower than the national median of $53,046 over the same period. Additionally, 16.7% of Jefferson County residents lived in poverty compared to 15.4% of Americans.

Kentucky is notorious and historically noted for being a democratic state. We vote Democratic in state elections, and Republican in federal elections. Such a strange thing.

Because there are still enough older people left that believe local democrats think like they use to 50 years ago. Same way with states who think Repubs are the same old bunch.
It makes no sense to be so far right as a state and vote dems in local elections. A big reason is people never switched there registration. The parties are not the same.
