#1
Williamsburg, KY – Returning home to the friendly confines of the O. Wayne Rollins Center on Saturday, the #18 ranked Patriots would use an unbelievably efficient first half of play to jump out to a big lead over the NAIA second-ranked and Mid-South Conference rival Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson College. The second half was just as impressive as UC would hand LWC their first loss of the season in dominating fashion by a final score of 86-61. The win improves the Patriots to 16-3 on the season and 4-1 in MSC play.

After trading baskets all the way to a 15-15 score just under seven minutes into the game, it was there that UC's impressive first half performance kicked into another gear. UC would go on a pair of 8-2 runs over the next six minutes to take a 31-19 lead over Lindsey Wilson. From there, it was all Cumberlands the remainder of the half. After six quick points on a pair of threes from the Blue Raiders, the Patriots would close out the first half on a 20-5 run to take a 51-30 lead into the half. UC shot a remarkable 76.9% from the field in the first half (20-26) along with 7-10 from deep.

The second half started off a bit slower for UC while Lindsey Wilson made some halftime adjustments to try and counteract the potent Patriot offense. After outscoring the Patriots 19-11 to get the lead down to 62-49 at the first media timeout of the second half, Cumberlands would awaken and pull away. During the next six minutes, UC would put together their own 14-5 run to jump ahead 76-54. From there, the Patriots would coast as they would pull away, etching the first loss of the season for the Blue Raiders and a big win for the Patriots.

Four Patriots would tally double figures in the game led by Eric Duncan with 20 points and two assists. Malik Colvin-Seldon added 17 points, six assists, and five rebounds in a fantastic all-around performance. Chance Morton chipped in 15 points and five rebounds off the bench while Bernard Samuel would score 12 points to go with his four assists and three rebounds.

UC finished the game shooting 58.3% from the floor and 10-16 from behind the three-point stripe. The Patriots also shot an impressive 20-24 from the charity stripe in the game. The bench scoring was big for UC as they outscored the Blue Raiders in the reserves 26-6.

UC returns to their home floor on Thursday, January 25th as they will host the #12 ranked University of Pikeville for another big Mid-South Conference matchup. Tip-off is set for 8 pm.
