UK book chain Waterstone's announced the Top 25 Books of the Past 25 years, as voted for by their customers, and the number one book on the list was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (in America referred to as the "Sorcerer's Stone"). The announcement was made to celebrate the chains silver jubilee and the nominations were made by publishers, editors and agents.
