To celebrate the hundredth anniversary of Fenway Park, both the Yankees and the Red Sox will be wearing 1912 throwback uniforms for this afternoon's game. Here's New York's old-timer duds; here's Boston's.
Things were simpler back then, and a lot less marketable. The Boston cap was plain white, so the throwbacks are too. But lest you think retro uniforms are broken out solely for the sake of history, of course they're available in team shops. That includes the "Boston Red Sox Authentic 1912 Turn Back The Clock Game Performance 59FIFTY On-Field Cap." It's a plain white cap. It's really not cheap.
If you don't mind all your friends pointing and laughing at your in-authenticity, here's a plan white cap for five bucks.
