Perfect storm brewing?

1) - In Europe nearly 100,000 Russian troops are massed along the border with East Ukraine. And even though Obama has taken his customary liberties of interpretation to determine our responsibilities according to the Budapest Memo to the folks in Ukraine, we are none the less bound to defend the Ukraine by two separate agreements, the Budapest Memorandum and in defense of our NATO partners.

2) - North and South Korea are exchanging gunfire as we speak. Again, we are bound by treaty to defend South Korea against any aggression from the North.

3) - Japan and China are in another ultimate staredown and we are bound by treaty to defend Japan.

4) - Iran, who may be mere weeks from getting the bomb, is poised to make good on the threat to wipe Israel off the face of the planet with whom we are bound by treaty to defend.

So, let's see. We here in the US, from whose leading politicians one never ceases to hear about the glories and allegiance to international law. And of whom have bound our nation by that same legal system, to fulfill in full, the treaties and promises made to our allies, are thereby duty bound to honor said treaties by the following actions; resist the Keystone XL Pipeline like we would the black plague (who needs gas to run a military, right?), cut back our army to pre WW2 levels, mothball much of our naval fleet, cancel the Air Force F22, curtail the F35 production, as well as all the rest of our military hardware programs and generally cut back in every way our ability to prosecute a vigorous national defense. And why? Well because liberal minded defense strategists have decided we will pursue a defense strategy based on the assumption that large scale land wars will never happen again. Like the rest of the laughably ridiculous ideas that just sort of pop into their heads, this one is straight from La-La Land. It's the liberal 'brotherhood of man doctrine', rearing up it's pot deluded head again. They have just sort of 'decided' that mankind has moved past those days of large scale war. Kind of like little kids playing the ultimate game of make believe.

So, war is a relic of history, really? What a shocking revelation! And, speaking of revelations, I'm sure all those worried about Armageddon, or WW3 if you like, can now relax while America and her sage military commanders are forced to ignore the specter of war stalking the entire globe, and submit our collective fates instead, to a 'seeded group' of pin headed Ivy Leaguer's who, like Obama, just feel so self enlightened. After all, anything is possible when those running our foreign and domestic affairs are playing make believe so, we'll just make believe the bad guys aren't real, and on the domestic front, we'll just say a 20 plus trillion dollar debt is really a good thing. Makes as much sense as saying Putin is a regional power if you ask me. Democrats and their adoring media are unified in their assertions that "Americans are weary of war," and we should therefore just let global affairs unravel before our eyes. :please:

History is clear. Americans wanted nothing to do with WW2 either but, war is visited on one's doorstep regardless of how weary he may be. Especially the doorstep of noble societies to whom, whether the liberal will admit or not, the rest of the world looks up to. Maybe they cheap shot us and maybe they rail against us but, you can bet your bottom dollar the world took solace in the knowledge that the United States on America was there to keep the peace. That's what gave the world the relative space of time necessary for the adolescent strategists and social apologists of our time to decide man had moved past war. A notion that is laughably dismissive and naïve, and is possibly the harbinger of world war. No, the only choice man has with regard to war is whether or not he would choose to defend himself. If he chooses against defense, bad guys will loot his land, LOL, and like war, that too is not up for debate.

Americans need to decide which is more important. Social justice ala the Bill Ayers inspired model of the 60's, or keeping the madness outside of our borders ala a strong defense and the tried and true traditional values of the VERY recent past. Should we continue to be a nation of the free, self governed and personally responsible? Or, are we going to fully invest ourselves in twinkes, Mountain Dew and zombie kill counts? I mean, are we Americans all really stupid enough to let one guy redefine our entire world and all of reality for us? What in the name of good sense are we going to do with ourselves once he's gone in a few years?

The worst case scenario I see happening, and it doesn't seem that far fetched, is when Israel takes action against Iran, and they will, what is the Chinese and Russian response. They are poised to stretch us thin.

I doubt that the Russians or Chinese would do anything to draw themselves into direct military conflict with the US, but who knows, the Russians are desperate to stay relevant, and the way things are going for them, every year that passes they become more and more irrelevant.

What I see happening, potentially, is when Israel hits Iran, the Chinese and Russians unleash NK.

Iran and their allies strike back at Israel, Turkey who is a key ally there is in turmoil right now and would likely sit it out for awhile. The US would then be drawn into 2 conflicts in the ME and the Korean peninsula. Then the Russians may make their move to grab Ukraine.

^ The rich and the powerful love to set up straw men. That's why we see all the shenanigans of Russia and China manifesting themselves in the Arab World, as you point out Iran in particular, and places like North Korea. In other words, the more the merrier when tying to unseat one's enemy from a position of influence and power, and so all the behind the scenes machinations and egging on conflicts.

We used to do a good job of stomping out fires which had the potential to spread, but as you know, the push for the US to withdraw their influence is a big deal right now. It's sort of hard to put a fine point on the order in which the dominos might fall, but you can bet they will.
