Anybody else wonder where the Republican leadership is hiding out these days? I understand where Paul Ryan comes from, because I understand where the guy who handpicked him as successor came from, that being John Boehner. Boehner and his afore mentioned adoptive progeny, are hopelessly dedicated Keynesians. Even though having begun his congressional career a scant 3 years after Reagan's tenure, Boehner was nonetheless, coopted as soon as he got to Congress by those liberal elements still attempting to save face with revisionist efforts to redefine the successes of the Reagan Presidency.
Paul Ryan is all about standing up for the politically correct baloney of left, as are all the rest of the RINO's laced through the Republican Party. He's known as a very good numbers cruncher, which just means he does a good job justifying government giveaway programs by suggesting imaginary but creative tax dollar savings that those giveaways could purport to generate. Obama did exactly the same thing, but with much more flair when he sold ObamaCare, saying it "would not cost the taxpayer one dime."
The overarching point is as follows. These guys are all adherents to the lie of "revenue neutral" governance. Like the famed free lunch, there is no such thing. When taxpayers are taxed by government, and those tax dollars are then given to other people, for whatever moral sounding rationalizations that can be cooked up, that costs all taxpayers real money. It is deducted from their pay.
The great middle class of the United States reminds me of the great oceans of the world. The oceans cleanse the entire world, they heal, feed, control weather, and literally sustain all life on Earth. The oceans make life on Earth spectacular, and for Earth to remain healthy, so they must remain healthy. Our own history proves that the middle class is much the same. They are for example, the true source of wealth, and the true reflection of moral health which in turn ultimately controls the quality of life here in this land. In short, the lack of direction which presently afflicts the Congress, similarly afflicts 'the people.' Very simply put, the pollutant which has the US and therefore the rest of the world in decline, is sin. We turned our backs on God and we lost our mandate to self govern as the result. Just winning arguments is no way for the citizens of this land to live. We must honor God with our lives, drawing our authority to self govern from Scripture in a state of moral personal responsibility. Fathers should pay for their own children for starters.
Because we are a couple of generations away from personal responsibility being prerequisite, we are quite frankly, both lost and confused about why we are lost. Efforts by the Reagan wing of the Republican Party are therefore being rejected and thwarted by a few scant votes in the Senate. We should be enjoying a return to normalcy, but we see instead that we are locked in the same battle. The only thing which has changed is the party in control is Republican. And the only thing which truly differentiates them from Dems is the number of liberals seeded among them. Dems are 100% seeded, Republicans are somewhere around 10% seeded.
Case in point concerning the dissolution of America's once great middle class-- The last generation of hourly professionals to enjoy a livable retirement are very likely already retired. Many die daily due to natural causes, and like the Dodo, their kind will soon be extinct. Their disappearance heralds the end of middle class wealth signified by home ownership in the form of a life's work of building wealth through home ownership. Along with savings and insurance, all have been largely seized by wealth redistribution schemes. It happened first to the infamously elusive hiding place of the Social Security Fund. Nobody has seen evidence of its existence for some time now. But with the erosion of industry in America, has come the erosion of high paying jobs, home ownership, health insurance and pensions. It's just gone folks. Lacking any other way to offset growing personal expense of medical care and paying for the care of others, we second mortgaged away the "oceans" of middle class wealth. We re-fied our future to pay for the care and concerns of others today. And why did we do this? We had to, so that politicians could buy the votes they need to stay in office with our money.
So then, barring the ramifications of certain Spiritual shortfalls, what is the answer to our budgetary distress? We can't expect to continue to keep current on our bills, if those bills have ever expanding caps and we're on a fiscally fixed income. Like the example of Ronald Reagan, we must grow our way back to financial health. Shipping everything offshore and retreating into a service based society have been disastrous for the cause. Never in my lifetime did I expect the day to come when construction projects would all feature Chinese steel, nor did foresee the US falling behind on maintaining a vital military. We must reverse these trends and we are fortunate that the President has made some progress to that end. But unlike what must be deemed the limited perspective of Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, who came to the Congress in the ominous year of 1984, actually saw first hand the successes of the Reagan Era, and assumedly voted for them. He knows better, and he owes his constituents and the nation the truth.

The GOP has completely and utterly wasted one calender year. They have missed so many opportunities to push threw far right legislation. There is absoloutly no excuse for it and it is butt hurt RINOS causing this problem.
They will also suffer the consequences. They've lost the Republican party and they can't stand it. Each election will see less and less RINOS blocking trumps agenda.

I hope you're right about RINO's losing in coming elections. There is one thing though, yesterday's election results were mind numbingly bizarre. Dems won the governor's houses in Virginia and New Jersey. Meanwhile the trans-get-reals were elected to quite a few state and local offices. If Mitch and Ryan have the faintest clue, which is admittedly up in the air, they will recognize the hurt locker awaits the Republican Party if they drop the ball yet again on tax reform, and they'll get off the dime and support the President's agenda.
