Shelby Valley 13 Belfry 2
#1
SV returned from a difficult weekend at the Capitol City Classic to play some pretty good softball tonight. After facing #1 Ryle, #7 Scott County and 4A Louisville PRP on Friday and Saturday, the Batkats easily handled Belfry on the road tonight. Solid pitching and good defense was accompanied by sound plate appearances. The Batkats started 3 seniors, 1 junior, 2 8th graders and 3 sophomores...# 9 Caitlyn Case and # 44 Courtney Sparks both became ill during the game and had to leave the contest, but Lierin Case and 8th grader Cyrena Salinas stepped in and played very well for SV. Congrats and good luck tomorrow night against Pikeville.

Those three opponents that Valley faced this past weekend would make any team's weekend "difficult". Look for this team to continue to get better with pitching and outfield has made some good plays.

Still the team to beat in the 15th. Tough group to score on.

Cyrena Salinas had some nice plays coming off the bench for taking the spot of kayla cantrell, who stepped in for cati case. BriAnn Roberts made two nice catches in the right feild back to back. I guess shelby valley really learnt from the experience going to the capitol city tourny.
