#3
Parker from JC has a chance IMO!!

46 innings.

I know its not alot but will be hard to beat... Its hard to go that long in high school with out scoring on a pitcher... I am sure it will be broken but when who knows.

I agree that the shephard kid is good and going places, but let it go things are going to happen (it's baseball). Let the kid enjoy what he has done.

I am a FAN of Chandler, but let him enjoy his time. It is baseball and everyone knows that anything can happen. I hope he does break this record and many more, but if not that is fine . He is still a great KID.

Im definatly expecting to see him go big..
Im sure he will rebreak his own record before he graduates again.

46 innings is a lot of innings without making a mistake.

yeah.. shep is calm and can handle just about anything. parker on the other hand can get a little short-fused and can blow up on the slightest mistake. JMO... buddy.

Thank you
All the previous post said was 46 innings.

The thread title showed shutout record.

Is this a KY record for consecutive scoreless innings allowed?
A national record?

A Lawrence Co record? More details guys.

Trying to get the kid the proper pub.

I'm trying to gather this myself. It sounds like a scoreless innings record, not a shutout record.

If Chandler has reached 46 innings of scoreless innings pitched, he has blown away the KHSAA record:

Consecutive Innings (min. 15)
37 Tyler Hieneman (Greenup Co.) 4/25-6/4, 2008
32 Dean Kiekhefer (Oldham Co.) 4/6-5/3, 2006
29 Kalen Ryan Gibson (Webster Co.) 4/8-5/16, 2001
27 Clint Brodsky (Boone Co.) 2003
26.1 Brian Wilburn (Madisonville-North Hopkins) 2001
22 David Slovak (Eastern) 2004
19.2 Alex Wood (Crittenden Co.) 2007
19 Brian Halford (Eastern) 2002
18 Brad Wilkerson (Apollo) 1995
17 Thomas Adkins (Boone Co.) 2003

That is correct. It is 46 consecutive scoreless innings pitched.

The MLB is 59 and the National high School Record is 80 set in 1973. Chandler now holds the Ky record for scoreless innings pitched with 46.

Here is a link to a thread that I already started on this after he broke the record.

Props to the kid. ALso props to the fielders behind him. Because that is a lot of innings that your fielders don't make mistakes allowing runners to score. Pretty impressive.

Shep was awesome, but dont forget Luke Huffman who struck out 14 and walked only two in 7 innings of work allowing 3 hits. This was a great pitchers duel, Banks and Moore also threw 2 shutout innings each in that game to complete it.
