Excellent early season game!

The Colonels played well, but turnovers hurt them at different points in the game. They were down by 8 with about 5 minutes left and were able to get some huge rebounds and scores. Bell made a living at the line in the second half, in fact at one point Bell only had 5 field goals and were leading by four, at the same point Whitley had 8 field goals. Whitley was down in the overtime and fought back, just an great effort all around.
Big Plays from Zach Rutherford, Devin Rutherford, and Boston Bryant. I was impressed with Luke Woods with solid minutes late. He will get better as the season goes on.

There are a few areas that certainly need improvement but for a first game the Colonel fans have to be happy.

Great way to get the season started for the Colonels.

Has to be a big win for Whitley after last season.

This is a huge win IMO.
We didnt have guys like Boston last year.
I honestly didnt think we would touch Bell, but if Whitley can continue to improve, they could make a little run. It would be nice to see them competing with Corbin and South by years end.

It's a big confidence boost for Whitley, but Bell may not be a top 10 team in the region at this point. They've lost a lot of very good players the last two years. The 50th could be even more open than last year though with all four teams having a shot. South has a big senior class though and Corbin has some good guards.

Congrats Colonels.
