Do you think that our government creates conspiracies?

One that stands out to me would be TWA 800. There are just too many pieces of evidence that still point to some type of misslie/bomb blast as opposed to a mechanical issue. (Remember--"friendly fire")

I didn't really think about this until an airline pilot (a friend) said that he believes that there the plane was shot down by friendly fire.

I think the government covers up and hides LOTS of things from the public. Most of it probably for our own good, but I think they do it.

I kind of believe like Dale from King of the Hill.

well, honeslty could you imagine the line at area 51 if the goverment relased infromation that aliens do exist and we have a living one at area 51.

Which leads me to believe that there are some things that we really don't need know. But some things, like TWA 800, I think fall under the "we definitely need to know" category.

I think that the government hides 99% of the stuff that they find out. I don't think that hiding all of it is in our best interests either. I would like to know if UFO's land and they swoop them up, if aliens are real, what exactly went on during Watergate, where is Area 51, what is at Area 51, etc.

So basicly, Nixon did what was best for the country's security.

As you all know, we were still in the Cold War with the USSR, and there were alot of rivalries on different matters. Politics was one of those. We both had satelites in orbit by that time, but ours were far more advanced. The US had the technology to capture audio from anywhere on earth, from their satelite.

They used this to get the discussions between Brezhnev, and two other high soviet officials, one suspected to be Vladimirovich Andropov, (Who took over the CC after Brezhnev).

The democrats had these in their room at watergate, and were planning on using them for their politcal use, to gain support. The tapes were kept in the DNC, which were stolen when the five men broke into the watergate complex.

Why wouldn't Nixon turn them over? He knew what they said and if they got out into public, and the Ruskies found out we had the audio conversations between two big-shots cruising around Moscow in that private limo, what would they have done?

I think that Pan Am 103 (Lockerbie Scotland) is also a big huge farce.

There were 2 Libiyans who went to try a few years back--one was convicted, the other wasn't. The story was that they bombed the plane because they were not in favor of the US, US policies or how the US bombed 2 of their cities in 1986.

But the real truth is that there were 4 members of the CIA on the plane (one was a hostage team rescue leader). There was an agreement made between high government officials (in the US) for a certain terrorist type to transport drugs between Frankfort, Germany and the US. In exchange--this terrorist was to act as an informant for the US (which was working rescue a certain group of hostages). Well, apparently instead of the CIA escorting this drug shipment like they had been doing, someone exchanged the drugs (which were usually inside a portable cassette player), with SEMTEX and a digital timing device. The CIA agents also had $500,000 in cash on the plane for the government officials.

The story gets a lot murkier from there.

The families of the people on that flight are still fighting for the truth. It is pretty interesting stuff. I can still see the picture of the devastated cockpit with "Maid of the Seas" clearly visible.

there are alot of conspiracy theories about 9/11 ...on showtime there is a show called penn & tellers bull**** ... you should see some of the pictures they have that are so clear of the planes crashing ... it's almost like they knew it was going to happen ...

I think the news media (reporters) mislead us more than the goverment hides information.
I never really paid much attention and believed most news reports, thinking that they new what they were talking about. But after watching the mining accident in West Virginia and seeing how the reporters were covering the story. Most of those reporters were making comments and trying to find someone to blame just so they could make a headline. I have been involved in coal mining for over 25 years and some of their comments were so far out of line.
I just wonder how much truth there is in their reports, from now on I'll check out other sources before I will take one reporters word.

It's not really a conspiracy, but it's fairly interesting.

Last year sometime in the fall, a japanese science team created an 'active camoflague' jacket. It bent light to basic make you see through or transparent. I've seen it in action on TV on a report, and it was sweet. The two kids who were testing it stood next to a street in Japan, and you could see cars drive by through their coats. Was neat. An article was also posted in two or three US science magazines.

About a week later however, the technology and all talk of it vanished. Poof, gone, it never existed. I think the US DOD had great interest and knew the potential of this technology and bought it, and all rights to it, and no one is allowed to talk about it in reports and the news. I mean literally a week after it hit the press, it was just gone.

Something that big and advanced wouldn't just burn out, something is gone there. Like I said, it's not a conspiracy, but I just hope it saves some of our militaries lives once it's in use.

I think the JFK assassination and the "magic bullet" was a conspiracy. A lot of these things really make you wonder....

The JFK case is really interesting. I want to see the History's Channel thing about it again because I wasn't really interested when it originally ran. I have the Zapruder film and have read and read articles about it. I would love to know what happened.

I will say this--it doesn't look like an airplane was EVER there. I don't know enough about missles to give a solid opinion--but to the untrained eye--I would definitely agree.

So many things in the movie made sense. If the plane was that low, there would have been something left of the wings. And there is nothing (NOTHING AT ALL). For the life of me, I had to watch it about 6 times just so I could get everything.

i am not saying that there is a conspiracy... but if there is how powerful is the media and the government to brainwash us ...

i had to watch it about the same amount of times..... when you take what your given without questions... it takes a while to break through what you have been fed .

I just find it amusing that, when I started to think about it, I never even wondered why I didn't see any part of the airplane there. (Which speaks to your point). And I know that there are a lot of other people who wonder the same things. . . .
