Documentary on CNN tonight...Dr. Sonjay Gupta in Peru, where in a relatively small region a lot of smelting of metals takes place. No EPA... recent data confirms that 98% of children in the region have varying degrees of lead poisoning. The Industrial West's mess of the early to mid industrial age has been shifted to China and third world countries. We use the steel; they swim in lead. In reality, "Third World" countries are actually "Majority World" countries as the overwhelming % of the world's population lives there.

It's been a good series. Also focuses alot on the ill-affects some nations are subjecting animals to for the purpose of profit, such as polar bears, elephants, sharks and gorillas. Anything with Anderson Cooper is usually informative and well-produced. Looking forward to it tonite, actually. I know, I am a party animal, planning my nite around a CNN documentary. :o
