College football coaches' ballots to be secret in 2010 season
#1
The final regular-season ballots in the USA TODAY Coaches' Poll will no longer be made public beginning with the 2010 football season, according to a person with knowledge of the information who didn't want to be identified because he wasn't authorized to comment before an announcement today from the American Football Coaches Association.
The AFCA has released the final ballots since 2005.

So what does this protect? I guess the only thing it means is now a coach can vote for his team #1 and does not have to feel guilty in the public eye?

Or it allows for them to vote for who they believe to be the actual #1 team in the nation instead of just conforming with everyone else after the National Championship game.

It is just getting sad. To me no matter what there is no clear cut National Champion until the playoffs are put in. Poor Utah!
