Carroll, a Lloyd Memorial High School senior, signed to play for the NAIA football team in Barbourville, Ky. March 3.

"I'm really excited to go down there and play football," he said. "Continuing my education is first and foremost."

Carroll was a two-year starter on the offensive line for the Juggernauts, and said he might get some playing time at either tackle position at Union.

"I love it because it gives me a chance to be the guy who doesn't get the credit," he said. "My junior year we had over 2,000 yards rushing and my senior year we had 2,000 yards passing. I've always been part of explosive offenses and I want to keep doing that."

Carroll plans to major in education to become a teacher and coach.

"David has worked real hard," Lloyd head coach Roy Lucas Jr. said. "The great thing about him is he is a great kid, an outstanding young man to be around. He's continuing to work hard and make himself a better player."
