On paper this game may be one of the best in the state this week.  Everyone knows that Owensboro is coming in as one of the top 5A teams in the state, led by Rutgers commit Gavin Wimsatt.  But Daviess Co is no push-over either.  The Panthers are led by QB Joe Humphries who comes into the game as 6A's leading passer in the state, who is averaging almost 330 yards per game and has tossed 7 TDs to 0 INTs. We should find out just how good the Panthers and Humphries really are when the Red Devils roll in.

Union Co @ Owensboro Catholic
Catholic is coming into this game 0-2 but both losses have been to quality opponents and from what I understand they've been a tad banged up. Union Co is coming in 2-0 with wins over Madisonville & Hopkins County.  Looking at Catholic's upcoming schedule, this game could be very important to the remainder of the season with Owensboro, CAL & Hancock Co showing as the next 3 opponents on the Aces schedule.  This game is played at Steele Stadium so Catholic will have home field advantage in this contest.

Apollo @ Central Hardin
Apollo is rolling into E-town sitting at 1-1.  In week one the Eagles picked up a quality win against an always tough Owensboro Catholic team but suffered a setback last week against 5A power Owensboro.  Central Hardin comes in at 2-0 with wins over DeSales and Butler.  Based on season results so far this year, this game looks like it should be Hardin's toughest to date. It will be interesting to see how the Eagles bounce back from last week's loss; you know Coach Edge will have the Eagles prepared.
