I think Walter's State is letting him walk-on based on potential. Sam does have a lot of that. Once he matures on the mound and gains command of his 3 pitches then he could possibly see a good school come knocking on his door in a couple of years, and I think Walter's State sees the same thing? It has nothing to do with any stat that he's put up?
