Cincinnati Bengals: Most underrated, overrated players of all time
#8
Watching Gio Bernard reminds us who remember the 80's of James Brooks. James Brooks is one of those guys who easily falls into the category of under-rated. The guy could do everything and was from the "TOUGH-GUY" running back mold of Walter Payton. Brooks could hit holes and get to the safety as fast as anyone in the league and when he got there, it was the safety who was slow to get up. I can understand how Icky could be considered over-rated, but the year that both he and Brooks put up over a 1,000 yards rushing each was one of the greatest dual back years in NFL history. Icky helped bring back to vogue the Big Back and is Jerome Bettis inspiration along with Earl Campbell for him to want to be a running back versus a linebacker.

Yes, James Brooks is one of the most under-rated Bengals players of all-time!
