No matter how you try to spin this it’s a weak schedule. They have to play Belfry or or they wouldn’t have them on there. Next best team is who?  Raceland?  Good team but a much smaller school. This will get them their wins but will not get them any better.

While Russell may not be on the level they were in the early 2000's they are far from weak. I can't speak for the rest of LC's schedule but I can vouch that Russell as a program isn't weak.

Is Russel improved from last year? Really don’t know much about them other than they were 6-5 and went out in the first round last year. Had some bad losses. I would love to see them improved this year. Have some friends on the coaching staff who are great people. But seems like they are down. Their middle school really struggled.

Just because a middle school struggles has no impact on the Varsity squad. It’s all about how much work is done in the weight room as they mature.

Weight room takes time. But it is where it starts. So are you saying they are much improved over last season?  Now I’m not saying they are a bad team. But they were an average team last year. An average team doesn’t help a schedule much.

What I call weak would be a team like Pendleton or Lewis County. Russell is far and away better than them.
