I'm just addressing some of the people who brought up the taxpayer issue. I mean, no one who lives in the city limits that goes to Johnson County schools was complaining about city taxes that go to Paintsville. I just didn't think that tax money would be a legitimate complaint. And you can act like I have this all wrong, but my dad used to play in that softball league. But definitely don't think I'm disputing who put the infield there because I'm not trying to make Paintsville or PLL look bad and I'm not saying PHS took over that particular field, just saying that PLL is played on city property (leased or not) and that all the Cal Ripken fields are on Johnson County schools property. I myself don't think it really matters though. (My dad's gripe about the PHS field is that it used to be a public area, but it was essentially turned into a private field. But I won't say any more about that because it doesn't really have anything to do with this.)
I agree with you though. Until kids and parents start complaining for a legit reason, I say let the kids play and see how they like Cal Ripken or Little League. I bet most people on here, me included, don't play in either league and probably quite a few don't even have kids that play in either league. Really, it's supposed to be for the kids and it seems like too many people want to see political conspiracies one way or the other.
