Actually two of the models Libs like to use for their policies, France and Germany, both kicked out their socialist leaders and brought in conservatives.

Seriously considering moving to Germany when I'm done with school. Igot a buddy of mine that did so, and he loves it. Better pay, economy on the rise after the times it went through under their socialist leadership. Plus I can still vote and have a say here in America, so when this country gets going back in the right direction I will come back, but until then, I guess it will be time to take a liking to Futbol.

And much better looking women in Europe.

Waahhhhh, waaahhhhh, I'm moving to Europe until a Republican gets back in the White House, waaahhhhhhh.

Get over the fact that you're now in the minority as far as you thinking about Obama and the future of this country.

However, there is an old saying, "Be careful what you ask for, you might get it". Now that the dems have full control, they better produce or they have absolutely no one to blame.

Oh, I'm sure we'll still find a way to blame it on Bush. Big Grin

Oh, I'm sure you will. But from January on, it's in the other court. If anyone in the next few years can blame things on Bush, then we can blame the current events on Clinton.

It isn't simply Bush. Policies matter. A decision to say "no" to a one payer medical insurance system has a drastic impact on those Americans who would have chosen it. A tax cut focused on the middle class has a drastic impact. A change in foreign policy has a drastic impact.

Finally the blame game is over for the Democrats. Every time something goes wrong after January 20th we can now Bash Obama for it.
For all you people calling McCain supporters "whiny", what do you call all the liberals in California protesting because the people voted down same sex marrigage? The people spoke, just as in the presidential election. Don't protest, whine, or blame churches. Just go home and accept that is what the people wanted.

They're being denied basic freedoms. No comparison.

If the people vote in Proposition 123 that all green eyed people go to an interment camp for the wickedness of having green eyes, the people have spoken in such a way as to violate the Constitution of the United States. Essential liberty, essential equity under the law, these things cannot be taken or denied through a show of hands. Pure democracy is mob rule, plain and simple.
Last time I looked, gay marriage is not part of the constitution, therefore not a constitutional right. All I can say is, "QUIT THE WHINING!!! THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN"
DevilsWin Wrote:They're being denied basic freedoms. No comparison.

what basic freedoms are those?

Can you explain where desegregation of schools etc. was found, literally, in the Constitution? In my thought, the Constitution is a living document, meant to be interpreted in such a way that basic rights, basic dignities, basic equalities are always found there. Again, the church can define marriage as between a man and a woman, and enforce that definition among its members. But, apparently, that's not enough...which is why the separation of church and state is in the Constitution.

It is also not in the constitution that a 50 year old man can't marry a 10 year old girl. Yet we don't allow it. It is a disease, and so is homosexuality, and they deserve no special marital rights.

You are comparing pedophilia to consenting adults in same sex relationships? Careful, you are suggesting more about your worldview than you might think. You are comparing incest to same sex marriage between consenting adults? There are gaps in that logic a crow can't fly over.

Not necissarily.
I could argue that your denying the rights of those based on their age. Like I said you can make the same argument for those. All are diseases and are wrong. Homosexuals don't deserve special treatment.
Beetle01 Wrote:what basic freedoms are those?
Oh I don't know,.... Perhaps Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Really pathetic Beetle. You are the most selfish, ethnocentric person I have ever known.

I'm not really that selfish, you can come over and play some xbox later if you want lol.

I meant marital rights DW. I don't feel they have the same marital rights as a man and woman. That's how I feel about it. I look at homosexualty as a disease. One that sometimes might be brought out by surroundings and circumstances. Yet it is still a disease. Same as alcoholism. We don't let alcoholics drive drunk because they have a disease. Just as we won't treat homosexuals any different than other people who suffer from similar diseases.
