You know, this actually makes me wonder.... If it's NOT a sport.... what the heck is it? An activity? A requirement? A workout?
There are many co-ed teams out there in which the boys would rather be on the cheerleading squad as they can get scholarships rather easily. Evidently this is still a one sided argument and will continue to be so until someone with an open mind looks at ALL aspects of cheerleading. When I cheered (back in the day) we were in as good a shape as the football team. We lifted weights, ran laps around the field, did 2 practices a day.... along with our regular stunts, gymastics, and routines..... It amazes me...
