Mercer beat McCreary in the 1st game of the season on a Dixon technical. A good friend of mine was officiating the game and Dixon was flopping his chops and he got busted for it.

Technical had very little to do with that game. Mercer was 18-5 at the start, led by 9 the at halftime. Back up 15 in 3rd, Jamel Taylor went to bench with 4 fouls 1 minute in the 3rd and didn't return till the 4th with 6 min to go.
McCreary led for about 0:30 of that game. mercer controlled it from start to finish without their starting point guard lyndon compton who was out for the first two weeks of the year with injury.
Mercer missed both techincical free throws i believe
