Default Tennessee Athletic Director Fired
The Tennessee coaching search has reached embarrassing levels, and AD John Currie has come under fire for the failure to land Butch Jonesís replacement.

On Friday morning, Currie met with Tennessee chancellor Beverly Davenport, and the results of the meeting werenít good for the embattled athletic director.

According to WVLT reporter Chynna Greene, Currie was fired by the school, marking an end to his brief eight-month tenure in Knoxville:

#BREAKING: According to sources, UTAD John Currie has been fired after only 8 months on the job 8 months.

What this means for the Volsí coaching search is unclear, but the school now has no football coach and no athletic director.

They'll still find a way to compete with Kentucky and beat them next year in Knoxville, even if they hire the waterboy

And it also appears Phillip Fulmer has been sabotaging this from the get go hoping to become the new AD. Lol. Man what a bunch of screw ups. Screwing up the Mike Leach hire was just mental. They wonít be able to get anyone in there haha

@newyscruggs
Sources tell @NBCDFWSports that former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach is working on a deal to become the next coach at Tennessee. A deal could be announced Friday. I’m working on more details.

I’ve been reading a lot of Tennessee blogs about how former coach Fulmer has been placing the pieces together to get the AD job. How sad is that? I don’t know the current AD and he may be a terrible person but if he’s not, how could Tennessee do him this way?
