Default The Midnight Express
As a tag team how would you rank The Midnight Express as a tag team among all time great?. I watch a lot of YouTube wrestling shoot interviews and such. Jim Cornette is one of the guys I like watching because he is so entertaining. He talks like his two main versions of the Midnight Express was some of the greatest tag teams ever. I have mixed emotions about that. I was really big into wrestling back in the late 80's and early 90's. NWA was my favorite. They were good but when I think of great I think of the Road Warriors, British Bulldogs, Rock N Roll Express, Tully and Arn, Ollie and Arn, Hart Foundation, The Russians, etc. Should the Mid Night Express be included? Who are some of your all time tag teams?

PS. I also loved the Powers of Pain, but I know they dont belong on the list.

I think you can make a case that Rock n' Roll and Midnight are the two best tag teams ever.

Those guys could headline a huge card or PPV, and that's not something you often see with tag team feuds (or EVER see in this day and age).

Great debate. I am 100% with you Westy. Pro Wrestling debates are so difficult to debate, do you ranking them by Drawing Power? Fan Popularity or Hate? Workrate? Flying? Look?

Nobody drew more butts to arena's than Tully and Arn. They had the Four Horsemen gig to get them to Icon status, but when they broke off and went to WWF, they carried their heat to a new audience. They have to be right up at the top.

Fan popularity, maybe no one greater than the Rock & Roll Express. But a forgotten team that had the same type of success as the Rock & Roller's, was the Midnight Rockers. They were every bit as popular in the AWA and their run in WWF. But for pure popularity, I don't think anyone tops Morton and Gibson.

Most hated? Wow, that's a tough one, because to be great heels, you also wind up being loved. Arn & Tully would be right there, then the fans turned them into Heel-faces. Same thing for Demolition, Road Warriors, Midnight Express 2, Ivan & Nikita, Graham Brother's. I'm not sure I can pick one.

Workrate? Arn & Tully, Rhodes and Murdoch, Hart Foundation, British Bulldogs, Edge & Christian, Hardy's, but I'm going to surprise you with my pick. I'm going with the Dudley's. They could work any style team. Though they could not fly, but they were awesome to work with the Flyers and ground those type of guys. When it was power, they could work around muscle guys.

Flyers? Young Bucks I'll take any day, but the ROH type guy's are now a dime a dozen. But the Bucks are second to no one.

Look? Well, if you are totally into the "Power" look, then the Road Warriors are your team.

I guess if you look at all of the categories, I guess my choice would be Tully & Arn. I have them in a couple of my lists.

I never really watched the Dudleys much. Yes, the Midnight Rockets were extremely popular. My all time favorite tag team is the Road Warriors. Tully and Arm were great. As a singles wrestler Tully may be my second favorite next to Macho Man. As far as the Midnight Express, one of the things that mad them great was Jim Cornette. He was great on the mic and could really draw heat. I love watching his promos on youtube when he was he was running Smokey Mountain Wrestling. He would make fun of eastern Kentucky and it would absolutely crack me up although I'm from there. He was great.

The Midnight Express and the Rock n' Roll Express..... The two best tag teams in the wrestling business.

They were PERFECT for each other...... One wouldn't be as great without the other.
