North Carolina fan forced to move his seat.
#1
When Greg Demery realized the ticket he'd bought from a scalper for last Saturday's game between North Carolina and Virginia was two rows behind the Cavaliers bench, he couldn't believe his good fortune.

"I thought, 'How did I get this lucky to get this ticket?'" the lifelong Tar Heels fan recalled. "This low to the court? This never happens to me.'"

Unfortunately for Demery, he didn't keep his seat long enough to watch lineup introductions from up close, let alone the game.

Before the 46-year-old Arlington, Va. resident had time to remove his Carolina blue coat, a security guard approached and told Demery he couldn't sit in that section of John Paul Jones Arena wearing Tar Heels colors. Soon afterward, another Virginia staffer asked to see his ticket to verify that it was legitimate. And finally, associate athletic director Jason Bauman escorted Demery from his seat and relocated him to another seat 17 rows higher in the lower bowl.

After what Roy Williams did to a fan last year, I wish they would have made this guy leave the building.

Last year Williams made security remove a fan of the visiting team because he yelled "Don't miss" at Henson during a free throw attempt. No profanity was said at all by the fan.

So if it was alright for Williams and UNC to do it I wish UVA would have kicked this guy completely out of the place.

I hope this guy takes legal action and wins. Unbelievable

Sounds like the ACC has a lot of fools in charge after what has happened last year and this year.

I don't see anything coming of this. I think they will use the fact that he bought his ticket from a scalper.

It's hard for me to say how it will go. I dont see how they can justify him being discriminated against just because he purchased a legal ticket to the event from a third party. I'm sure if there is a loophole somewhere someone will find it. IMO, even Tarheels have rights. At least they didnt kick him to the curb. That sucks even if you do deserve it.

Here is the link to the thread when Roy Williams, UNC's Head Coach, did this to a fan from another school. Oh and it wasn't Henson, it was Deion Thompson.

Cliff notes: Roy had security remove a fan for telling one of his players to "don't miss". Everyone on here is upset because UVA had a guy move seast because he had a Tar HEEl shirt on.

This is what I think they will use:
"Demery because the seats directly behind the Virginia bench usually belong to athletic department staffers. In this case one of those staffers gave their tickets to to a friend who then sold one to a scalper, enabling Demery to purchase it for $100."

The way I read this, is that these tickets usually aren't available to the pupblic. So they could say he didn't purchase it legally.
I still think it's messed up though. I bet that "staffers" friend don't get those tickets any more...lol.
