(8) BYU 87 - New Mexico 76
#1
Jimmer Fredette - 52 points

Jimmer went off in this one. He posted his career high in this one he went 7-14 from downtown.

The fightin Jimmer's are playing well without their inside man. I think that it is kind of funny that Ferdette almost outscored Penn State and Wisconsin by himself. BYU is pretty one-dimensional, especially right now so I will completely be okay with them in UK's bracket if we can get bumped up to a 3 seed or so. However, if BYU does not win out they will probably drop to a three potentially a 4.

I half expected BYU to mail in the final portion of the season

This game should cement Dave Rose's position as the leading candidate for COY. It usually takes a few games for teams to adjust after losing a key player like Rose did, but BYU wasted no time avenging their earlier loss to New Mexico. BYU deserves at least a 2 seed, whether they get upset in their tournament or not.
