I know u said the past 10. But man has anyone looked at that 1996 draft class?

Allen Iverson was taken number 1 in this loaded draft. It has produced 10 all stars in the 1st rd. It also takes home the title for most players named to an all NBA team with 8(counting undrafted Ben Wallace). This class has taken home 4 MVP awards (Iverson, Kobe and nash has 2). It also has 2 NBA defensive players of the year(Ben wallace winning it 4 times and Marcus Camby winning it once).

This class has many more noteable players including(Iverson, Abdur Raheem, Stepon Marbury, Ray Allen, Antoine Walker, Stojakavich, Nash, Jermaine O'neal, Zydrunas IIgauskas, Marcus Camby, Derek Fisher and Ben Wallace).

Kobe wants his nuts back Aslan.

IMO - Chris Bosh HOF.
Bottom of 2003 is loaded with 3 point snipers.
#12
Peja Stojakovic - Glad he did so much in Dallas/Heat series...
Marcus Camby - Still can bang.
Jermaine O'Neal - Old.
Derek Fisher - Too Old.
Zydrunas llgauskas - Weak.
Ben Wallace - Washed up/ Old.
Antoine Walker - Does he even play now?
Shareef Abdur-Rahim - No Idea who this kid is.
Kerry Kittles - LOL!
Erik Dampier - Erica Dampier - YUP!

You could switch Kobe and Lebron in those draft classes and I'd still say 96 is better.

Noway, lol. Not even close.

Yeah most those guys aren't any good now because their old, but you have to take their entire career into account.
O'Neal, Walker, Abdur Rahum, and Wallace were All Stars in their prime.

^ I don't see it....

Perkins -just as good as/maybe better- Jermaine O'Neal

Chris Kaman -just as good as/maybe better- Big Z

All the other guys are just about equal....

Korver/Peja
James Jones/Kerry Kittles
Hinrich/Fisher or Mo/Fisher
Nick Collison/Erik Dampier

All these guys have just been good role players...

No, no, no.
I'll use these guys best seasons as comparisons. The advantage goes to the bolded.
O'Neal - 24ppg, 9rbg, 2apg.
Perkins(1ring) - 10ppg, 7rbg, 1apg.

Kaman/Z, I agree their about even but I'd give the edge to Kaman.

Peja(1ring) - 24pp, 6rbg, 1apg.
Korver - 14ppg, 3rbg, 1apg

Jones - 9ppg, 3rpg, .8apg
Kittles - 17ppg, 5rbg, 2apg, 2spg

Hinrich - 16ppg, 3rpg, 6apg
Fisher(5rings) - 13ppg, 2rpg, 4apg
Hinrich has the better stats, but Fisher has had a much better career.

Collison - 9ppg, 9rpg, 1apg
Dampier - 12ppg, 12rpg, .8apg

Take the LeBron blinders off just for one minute guys. Just because LeBron is in the class doesn't mean it's the greatest draft class ever. Clearly the 96 draft is better top to bottom, has more All Stars, and future Hall of Famers.

Fisher had a better career just because of his team... Hinrich is better!!

Collison is better then Dampier ---- both 7.5 ppg for their careers, but Collins is a better all-around player...

Peja has had a better "stat" career then Korver but they are just about the same player.

Kittles just had about 3 good years...

O'Neal had some good years, BUT I would take Perkins all day... Just ask the Celtics.... I know theirs a big difference in age but Perkins has been a better all-around player....

Lebron/Kobe --- I'll say equal

Wade/Iverson ---- Wade (03)

Melo/Allen ---- Melo (03)

Bosh/Nash ---- Nash (96)

West/Camby --- West (03)

That's the big thing....

2003 Draft has 3 players that are top 5 players in the game...

1996 Draft had 2 players that were top 5 players...

^ I understand where your coming from....

The two best draft classes ever. I just think that Lebron, Wade, and Melo thats sick.....

I never said Chris Bosh - HOF.... Go back and check

Perkins is better then O'Neal..... Basketball is a All-Aorund game dude.... Can't just look at scoring.....

Players don't wanna go in the paint when Perkins is there, No one cares if O'Neal is there or not

Perkins is better now, but in O'Neals prime he was definitely a better player than Perkins ever was.
#24
It doesn't take much to get into the HOF just so you all know...

Bosh merely riding the coattails of Wade and James will get him there just as a FYI..
#25
Aslan Wrote:Perkins is better now, but in O'Neals prime he was definitely a better player than Perkins ever was.

It's not even debatable. O'Neal was pretty good on the defensive end in his prime. In his best defensive year, he averaged 2.8 BPG. While Perkins has never averaged more than 2.0 BPG. Perkins career high in defensive rebounds per game is 6.2 while O'Neal's is 7.9. So ekff, you have no argument. It's not even close and never will be.

I really doubt it. He'll be overshadowed by those guys and never get a serious look because of that.
IMO Bosh never goes into the Hall of Fame.

There old now but so will wade and lebron one day.

Other than the bottom 3 players u named all those players used to ball. Big ben had 4 defensive man of the year.

Carmelo hall of fame? WHAT!
LOL

Kobe over Lebron
Allen iverson over wade
Ray Ray over Bosh
And so on. There old now but in a actual basketball game. 1996 class any day of the week.

and u think perkins is better than oneal? Worst post ever. Oneal was a superstar. Superstar. No doubt about it. He was a force in indiana.

And korver and peja is the same player after he showed u the stats? What do you base your choices on? Jesus.

The 1996 class was a better overall class. Yes lebron wade and carmelo are great players. But kobe? 5 rings. Iverson? the most exctiting scorer since jordan.

Gimme a break lebron lovers.
#29
This is basically just an older guy versus a couple of younger guys argument..

The '96 Class is in my opinion, by far, better than the 2003 class...

When you were doing the comparisons above it was a joke...

Kobe and Lebron do not cancel out.. Kobe is better.. Lebron is a vince Carter waiting to happen.. as soon as his athletic ability slips or an injury occurs, he's done.. No jump shots or mid range in his game...

Wade is a great all around player.. But Allen Iverson was a killer!! Could get 40 any night he wanted to and on anyone he wanted to.. If he would have had anyone on his team, he would have a few rings...

Steve Nash,Shareef, J. O'neal, Ben Wallace, Marcus Camby, Antoine Walker.... It's really no comparrison..

I mean, The Heat had 3 of the above and couldn't beat the Mavs... I don' t think you could throw in David West and Carmelo and beat 5 from '96..

James, Wade, Bosh, Anthony, West
vs.
Nash, Iverson, Kobe, O'neal, Camby

It wouldn't be close... Actually, it would be a good game between '96 next 5..
Fisher, Peja/Kittles, Antoine, Shareef, Wallace...
