Northern Kentucky University has notified the GLVC that the school is exploring a move to NCAA Division I athletics.

Umm, this is the third year of the process, not something that is new. They applied for consideration in 2008 and was approved after they made renovations to facilities. This only means they can officially seek acceptance and start the 3-year probationary period.

I did not know until today that former WVU guard Darris Nichols is an assistant coach at NKU.
