Google+
#1
The new facebook, twitter, skype, etc all rolled into one is about to be unleashed. Ive been on for a while. I think they are going like to public in a few weeks. After I get back from the beach I can send some invites out if anyone wants a head start.

What are you talking about? lol

Please explain.

I just installed Google+ on my Android phone. If anybody can dethrone Face Book it is Google. I like being able to create custom groups ("circles") to control who sees what. Tying GPS locations to a social networking client is cool but it is also a bit scary.

I just went and checked it out. Nice!

I still don't get it. It doesn't look very aesthetically pleasing.
#6
Can someone please explain what this is.

It's still in the early stages of development. Google plans to add more features to it. I think the real appeal for Google+ will be its focus on more flexible grouping and its GPS features. For example, as I understand it, you can allow family members (or only some of them) to appear on a map and (I think) receive an alert when they are nearby. You can automatically send photos to one "circle" as soon as you take them but not to anybody outside of that circle.

I think what Google+ is aiming to do is to make it easier for people to get together in person, using a smart phone as their navigator. I am not a big Face Book user and I just downloaded Google+, so don't ask me for much more detail. I don't know too many people in my neighborhood, so I probably will not use this app much around DC.
