Paintsville 4 #24 Boyd Co. 3 (Boys)
#1
Paintsville goes up 4-0, til about 15 mins left and then they started getting tired and Boyd puts 3 on the board. Tigers hold them off for the W though. Maybe now these boys will start to get a little attention from the rest of the state. The #14 St. Henry only beat them 1-0 this past summer at the Bluegrass Games.

Just to make sure. I reported the score to the Herald and Courier...lol.

Now let's get ready for Shelby Valley Saturday guys!

An unranked team beating another unranked team in a close, high-scoring game isn't going to send shockwaves toward the voting coaches (most of which aren't from the EKY block).

Plus, if Boyd County got a first-place vote (which is worth 25 points) and they were only ranked 24th, that pretty much means that first-place vote was the ONLY reason they were in the 25 to begin with.

And if that's the best win Paintsville has to state its case, then it's not much.

A formerly ranked team losing back-to-back games to unranked teams means the pollsters were right: They deserved to be dropped from the top 25.

And ranked teams don't give up more than two goals very often.

there was only 18 coaches in the entire state that even bothered to vote so the poll on the bottom end means absolutely nothing....except for a little bragging rights....:HitWall:

Whatever man. The Tigers came out and showed why they are one of the better teams in EKY last night. As for the goals. The Tigers were also playing without a three year starter (Daniels) on defense, he had just gotten out of the hospital that morning, which limited their subbing. Had he been there Boyd Co. prolly doesn't score.

At one point Boyd Co. was in the Top 25. So let the Tigers enjoy it and quit hatin. Tigers aren't 11-1-1 for no reason. They don't care what the score is as long as they win.
