Each District in the 15th!!!!
#1
What do you think the pre-season standings ought to look like for each individual district! Who's the favorite? Who might pull an upset come post-season?

57th:
1.) Sheldon Clark (Favorite: With talent returning, Cards are my pick to win the 57th)
2.) Johnson Central
3.) Lawrence County
4.) Paintsville (Sleeper: Young, but VERY talented. Will come together by season's end)
5.) Magoffin County

58th:
1.) Allen Central (Favorite: Loads of talent AND experience, should easily win the weak 58th)
2.) Prestonsburg
3.) Betsy Layne (Sleeper: Lost a few key players from 2005, but have some skill at key positions)
4.) South Floyd

59th:
1.) Pikeville (Favorite: Arguably one of East KY's top teams. Lost a lot from last season, but the Panthers will once again be favorites not only in the district, but in the region)
2.) Shelby Valley
3.) East Ridge (Sleeper: Young team, that made the regional tournament last year. Could pull out some "upsets" throughout the year)

60th:
1.) Pike County Central (Favorite: Return talent at key positions, and have some skilled pitchers)
2.) Belfry
3.) Phelps (Sleeper: Young, but like Paintsville, very talented)

I agree. Sheldon Clark should be the team to beat. Johnson Central is always tough. I've seen Lawrence Co. over the summer, and I hope that there summer team is not a preview of what to come this season. Paintsville will be weak, but will win some games. I Don't know much about Magoffin, but judging by the years past I'd say they will be celler dweller's again.

i hope the Cards can pull off a district and regional championship this year.

Me too! I think the district will have some good games in the Cards, Tigers, and the Eagles. Lawrence county I think will win some and Magoffin county, well I just dont see them as a competition in the 57th

One of the best pitchers in the region in Chappman.

The 57th is the best district and Pikeville is the best team.  Its great that Pikeville has got their baseball program to the level that it is at now and being a regional contender year in and year out.  Baseball is taken very serious at Pikeville High and we have enjoyed some good success in the past decade.

Pikeville will be down this year but so will the 15th region.  It should be another great season in the region with a couple of teams once again having a legit chance of winning a region title.  With the pitching that the Panthers have coming back and with a great coach in Lawson Pikeville is the team to beat but they have some good talent to replace from last years team.
