Now this is pretty funny. Duke recruits the best players in the nation, Coach K must be doing something right. Year in and year out they have a top 5 recruiting class and every year they are contenders for the national title. Don't get me wrong, I hate Duke, but this is a little farfetched.

That person would probably be trying to convince me that UK is the better program and that I am just jealous of their success and then they would go on trying to convince me that I am just blinded behind my Blue Devil glasses. The argument of jealousy is just ridiculous, IMO.

We as fans have right to chose what team we will faithfully follow and we also have a right to choose the teams we "hate" or dislike. The hate isn't personal and the hate doesn't cause me any jealously issues at all. The rivalry between Duke and UK has been escalated by the fans. Fans like me. Why? Because its fun. It creates excitement. It gives us "forum experts" stuff to talk about. It gives us stuff to talk about in our everyday lifes. Nothing like sitting on the boat fishing with grandpa and listening to him bitch about Duke be overrated or how Ricky P is a trader.

I don't see any harm in it whatsoever. This type of behavior you will find in every sport throughout the world. This very behavior helps feed into the overall excitement in sports today. You got to realize its not personal or its not jealousy. Its fun. Without teams like Duke, UNC, Cincy and UL there would only be two exciting games a week for me to watch. But hating these teams gives my basketball week much more excitement. I watch these games and really enjoy them. I cheer as hard for those teams to lose as I do for UK to win. Smile

I'm no fool about Dukes success. I'm well aware of it. If Duke wasn't a great team then we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Are they a better program than Kentucky? HELL NO!! But I'm a UK fan. In my eyes UK is the greatest and always will be. I wear blue goggles, blue underwear, blue hat, and I have a tattoo of a wildcat on my ass. No way will I ever admit Duke was better than UK. Im no expert, I dont care if I'm wrong, I dont care that I'm bias. I bleed blue. I love the cats and nothing will ever change that. I'm sure the feeling is mutal for true blue devil fans as well. These types of arguments will continue long after were gone. Hopefully one day I will sitting on a side of boat with my grandkids bitching about how much I dislike Duke. :thumpsup:
