Hate to see this especially to Boyd County.

lc is having trouble defensively.they need some good practice with game situations and they will improve.they have 32 games left and with each game they should get better.this team has talent and will rise to the top of their district.

Who are some of the key players on this team. Do they play small ball, or are they a bunch of power hitters?

Sophomore Kelsey Caudill hit a home run against SC. They mostly play small ball though. They usually end up pulling off some big rallies though. IMO, they need to work on their defense because the offense is their. I saw the third baseman mess up three rundowns in the game against JC. They need to work on those situations and have some serious team talks because they need to cut down on the mental mistakes that are causing errors. If they hadn't had so many errors against JC they would have won easily. I think with time and practice after these girls get going with their new coach and get some more experience they will do well!!

if you are talking about lc they are led by seniors brittney schaffer and keisha bowen.schaffer plays shortstop and is being recruited by several d1,d2 and private schools.rumor has it she will be signing with ovc softball powerhouse eku.bowen is the centerfielder that can hit any base including home with her arm and accuracy she also is unsigned at this time.lc new coach is just learning the game and in three games only 2 bunt attempts have been made.they depend on the power delivered by caudill, schaffer, and kasey york and the consistant hitting of bowen and michelle issac.the outfield of bowen ,rebecca stansbury lf,and kim fannin rf,is one of the best in eastern ky.they turned back 5 jc runners and picked off 1 from left field.their weakness right now is physical and mental errors.they did not have good preseason practices and do not protect the plate with runners on but it is early in the season so it looks on paper that they have a legitimate shot at a district title.time will tell

Boyd Co has a great softball team with 8 starting seniors They will be hard to beat in the 16th. This team is well respected by the LC girls and is coached by LC former coach  Last years dist matchup with BC and LC was about 17-2 so I would say if LC cleans up the errors they are going to do great
