US poverty on track to rise to highest since 1960s
#1
Thank you, President Barack Kardashian. While you are out rubbing elbows to raise millions of dollars in campaign loot from your Hollywood buds and other one-percenters, your fellow Americans continue their slide into poverty at a breakneck pace.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The ranks of America's poor are on track to climb to levels unseen in nearly half a century, erasing gains from the war on poverty in the 1960s amid a weak economy and fraying government safety net.

Census figures for 2011 will be released this fall in the critical weeks ahead of the November elections.

The Associated Press surveyed more than a dozen economists, think tanks and academics, both nonpartisan and those with known liberal or conservative leanings, and found a broad consensus: The official poverty rate will rise from 15.1 percent in 2010, climbing as high as 15.7 percent. Several predicted a more modest gain, but even a 0.1 percentage point increase would put poverty at the highest level since 1965.

The problem is that all these freeloaders know who is going to continue stealing from the taxpayers to provide for them. That, of course is their boy, Kardashian. Therefore, to continue their freeloading and to take it to a higher level, they will all vote for Kardashian.

There is great merit to the argument that, if you do not contribute to the coffers of the country, you should have no vote.

Every able bodied man (or woman) can work somewhere. The millions pouring through our soft underbelly to the south get jobs almost as soon as they get here. The difference for them being, 1. they're actually willing to work be it in the restaurant industry or manual labor from landscaping to construction and 2. they aren't coddled and pampered by an adoring liberal class and are therefore motivated to work or go hungry.

Anybody running a business these days knows this simple truth. You are lucky to get anybody who will actually work and do his job these days. Instead, business owners get folks who work much harder looking for ways amd excises to get out of doing their job, than ways they can do their job. They've been taught if they don't work government programs will support them. And they've been taught there is no shame in welfare. If folks don't want to accept jobs, there is no threat. We still house, feed, clothe, medicate, pay their utility bills, and see to it they have a cell phone. The "Great Society" flopped and as I keep saying, the expense the all encompassing welfare program imposes on the American taxpayer is too much. Taxpayers must now choose from among the choices of defense, maintaining infrastructure, medical care, and the like.

It isn't immoral to expect folks to get out and earn their way. In fact just the opposite is true; Genesis 3:19 (KJV)
19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
