Great weekend of softball, and all for a good cause. If you missed it, you missed an opportunity to see some excellent softball. Montgomery is a very talented softball team, and Bart Rison does an excellent job of directing his players. Pikeville, East Ridge, Johnson Central and Shelby Valley represented the region well. Pikeville defeated East Ridge for third place 9-1. Shelby Valley struggled to put the ball in play early in the game against Montgomery, and the bats arrived a little to late to pull out the victory...lost 3-2. Pikeville defeated Rowan to advace to final 4, and East Ridge outlasted Phelps 6-1. Shelby Valley took out Lawrence while Montgomery Co. sent Johnson Central into the losers bracket. Montgomery defeated Pikeville 2-1 and SV won out against East Ridge 3-1 to advance to the final game! Well played...

lc after losing to sv 10-1 with 9 unearned runs defeafed besty layne 23-1 with bl run coming off a huge home run by #4 for bl and then lost to rowan 6-0 in 5 innings.jc squeaked by bl in a very close game that was decided by a 3 run homer in the the last inning that gave jc the win 9-6.it was a very good tourney that was well organized and well officiated.there was some very good games played by all teams.a big hats off to the organizers for a job well done.

it used to be the hillbilly classic that went on for about 13 yrs before they changed its name.
