MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Saint Francis (Pa.) football team scored 50 unanswered points over the final three quarters to post a 57-23 win over Morehead State on Saturday afternoon at Jayne Stadium.

The Red Flash improves to 2-1 on the season, while the Eagles slip to 1-2 overall.

Senior running back Keion Wade led Saint Francis with 27 carries for 243 yards and three touchdowns. Senior quarterback John Kelly added 100 yards and two touchdowns through the air.

Kelly hooked up with senior wide receiver A.J. Alexander twice during the SFU scoring spree, while Wade rushed for two touchdowns, sophomore William Ingram scored twice and freshman Khairi Dickson also found the end zone.

Senior kicker Rainer Duzan got things rolling for the Eagles with a 22-yard field goal before senior quarterback Zach Lewis found sophomore slot receiver Brandon Bornhauser and senior wide receiver Donte Sawyer on scoring tosses.

The 94-yard connection with Bornhauser was a career long for both players. The 13-yard strike to Sawyer helped MSU’s QB tie the school record for career TD passes (55), while MSU’s top WR extended his career mark for TD catches (18).

Lewis finished 31-of-53 for 364 yards, with two touchdowns and three interceptions. Bornhauser collected 140 yards on six receptions.

Sophomore linebacker Jordan Hendrix, who entered the contest first in the Pioneer Football League with 14.0 tackles per game, reached his average. Sophomore defensive back Zach Senvisky chipped in with a career-best 12 stops.

Saint Francis posted advantages of 30-21 in first downs and 557-452 in total yards. The Red Flash also possessed the ball 39 out of 60 minutes, while converting 8-of-13 times on third down.
