Congrats to Tevin Slaughter from Somerset 1st Team DL, one of the hardest playing kids night in and night out, play after play that I have ever seen.

Congrats to Tyson Williams from Somerset HM at LB, wish you had been here longer.

Good Luck to both on your future where ever you end up.

Who with the AP is drunk? Cade O Bryan wasn't a DB was he? And Jake Middleton didn't play for Bell if I'm not mistaken! LOL!

Seems like every year a kid or two gets listed out of position.
#7
Three Bowling Green boys on the 1st team. Two of them will be back next year. Good times.
#8
Knox central had more than I expected 1 first team 1 second team and 2 hm.

I think it's more a problem with the courier journal editing. They just don't seem to proof their stuff.

Jake Middleton of Harlan County is listed as being from Bell and Treyvon Long of Harlan County is listed as being from Haran County. I've seen that in two publications.
#11
I'd still blame it on LCJ
#12
The Harris kid from MS didnt make but HM.... That's a joke.
#13

The link is not from The Courier-Journal. The C-J is actually a good newspaper and has the most accurate all state team IMO.

It has to be very hard to pick from so many kids. There are always going to be kids from good and bad teams overlooked. I can't believe Richie Whitford, OL for Highlands did not at very least make HM! But it is what it is and I think they try to spread the picks out over good and bad teams, and around the state. They probably also try to spread it out over big and small schools. Always going to be some deserving kids left out.

[B]Ok I have to finally post something about the AP Poll : This is the Final Regular Season Stats just in 4A Football:

Donovan McCoy Highlands 9 194 122 9 1949 26 217 All State 1st
Blake Bir Covington Catholic 10 226 129 8 2115 32 212 All State HM

Devon Evans Knox Central 10 120 70 4 1004 11 100
Robert Jones Valley 10 178 75 12 985 12 99

How Does Zyaire Hughes make it and Dylan Beasley "Who Led the State in Passing Not Make It" Flawed System the AP should be banned from even having a All State Team

I was to understand it was the AP poll, and that LCJ was the states largest newspaper.

Real Badman Wrote:I was to understand it was the AP poll, and that LCJ was the states largest newspaper.

The CJ has provided it's own All-State team for as long as I can remember and is generally the most respected of he two.

The AP is always submitted by the Lexington Herald first and is usually associated with that newspaper.
#23
congradulations to all players on the allstate teams its an honor for this achievment, now lets be honest I think the ap was way off this years team such as dylan beasley should be first team if not 2nd he led the state in yards actually around a 1000 yds more than any other quarterback. How bout the harris kid or even weston little 2315yds 33tds in 11 games jared jarrell qb from pburg who broke the record for most yards in a game wow i think the courier journal is actually the most accurate and the one that really matters fans will see a big difference between ap and the courier journal but congrats to all players well deserved

Lol not so rare after all. Although outside of special teams and honorable mentions to place at skill place on 1st and second teams is outstanding

BoondockSaint Wrote:The AP is always submitted by the Lexington Herald first and is usually associated with that newspaper.

No, it's not.
The AP sends the all-state team to all the AP members.
You may see it there first, but every paper/radio station receives it at the same time on the AP wire.
#26
Wow this are a joke. Cade O'bryan could be the best d lineman in the state not named hatcher from trinity. Instead you have him at second team db JOKE.
#27
DeAndre Farris is one of the top 3 RB's and one of the top 5 WR's in the state and did not even get an Honorable Mention. WOW!!! Check him out - ( https://www.youtube.com/deandrefarris22 ). Feedback welcomed.

The kid has 12 D-1 offers and has been invited to the Army All-American combine next month in San Antonio & a finalist for National Sophomore of the Year but his own state can't recognize him as all state.

Another good player from Ky that will leave the state.
#29
Ap polls are a joke weston little not honorable mention lol that's crazy but I heard that the kid made first team all state courier journal goes to show you that ap needs to do a better job
#30
Weston does deserve to be on their somewhere. Courier journal isn't out yet though.
