U Pike Baseball
#1
Drove by & stopped to watch U Pike play Ind Wesleyan this afternoon.

I have seen a lot of Eastern Ky, Virginia & West Virginia baseball in past 10 years, including many Pikeville College games (Lemaster coached). This team looked very average & from what web page says, had a 5-6 record after beating Ind Wesleyan twice yesterday (they were losing 1-2 in 5th when I left)

Big surprise was the roster & where they were from:
P - Syracuse, NY
C - Chico, Calif
1B - Las Vegas, NV
2B - Summerville, FL
3B - SOMERSET
SS - Gilbert, Arizona
LF - PAINTSVILLE
CF - Summerville, FL
RF - Syracuse, NY
DH - Scotts Bluff, Nebraska

Roster showed many more from California, Indiana, North Carolina (2), Michigan (2), Missouri, Georgia, & Maryland. Only other 15th region were 2 freshmen pitchers from Belfry. No 14th. One 13th - Sr OF from Middlesboro. 3 pitchers from 16th, and about 6 or 7 from Lexington, Georgetown area. Zero from next door neighbor states of West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio or Tennessee.

Are all MSC baseball teams this way? (17 of 33 on roster from way out of state)
I know Lemaster had a few from TN, OH & Va along with a few from PR, but he had a lot of EK, WV guys.
Opinion - ?
