Who's Getting All the Money?
#1
GAO Comptroller---- "Improper payments to ineligible recipients cost the government $107 billion in fiscal 2012, Dodaro said. Though 18 agencies are involved, the biggest problems show at the Health and Human Services Department’s Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program and the Education Department’s direct student loan program. Other agencies with related issues include the Treasury and Agriculture departments and the Social Security Administration."

Consider for just a minute how ridiculous the clouds of hot air emanating from your federal government really are. While Obama lambasts everything conservative in OCD fashion, his own affairs resemble a tree house full of chip monks. As the report above shows, we flushed over 100 billion in bogus payments to who knows who, while his adoring public is engaged in political theater where nurses and aides are furloughed at Walter Reed and White House tours are stopped citing money shortages.

Sequestration mandated reductions in spending authority are approximately $85.4 billion (versus $42 billion in actual cash outlays) during fiscal year 2013, with similar cuts for years 2014 through 2021.

So, if I understand this correctly, this administration is perfectly at home with cutting defense to the bone thereby exposing the American public to possible threat while at the same time, they remain unmotivated with regard to the overlapping and wasteful spending of our tax dollars even though hundreds of billions have been ID'd to that particular end. We flush over 107 billion in careless fashion, while we are forced to suffer the ravages of sequestration for a relatively paltry 85 billion? :please:

I've seen a number of administrations come and go. Any one of the to date unaddressed scandals would have sunk any previous administration, to say that amateur hour has come to the White House is understate the seriousness of our plight in grand fashion IMO. Rather than hire 16,500 new IRS employees, it would seem we need to hire enough people to track the areas where the federal government is hemorrhaging hundreds of billions of tax dollars each year.

Didn't Defense just spend 34m on a building in Afghanistan that is not, nor ever will, be used? It is being said that it will probably just be tore down. Camp Leatherneck.

Didn't Obama just blow around $100 million on a family trip to Africa?

No.

Really? What was the final tab for that junket? How many defense employees could have been spared furloughs with that wasted money? How many days of White House tours could have been covered for what Obama, family, and friends blew in Africa?

You'll never see the real final tab on the trip but, many had the estimate at 100 million. Most of the time when I go on a trip it is more expensive than the estimate. Given the track record for ObamaCare and his idea of what it means to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term, I'd say they more than hit their mark.

If the armed services spent 34 million on a building they will never use in Afghanistan, would not the approval and construction have happened under the watchful eye of your hero?

So, that weak exhibition of finger pointing is the best you can do to defend the fact that this administration gave over 107 billion taxpayer dollars to people who didn't deserve it for only one tax year? That would be welfare cheats if that happened to get by you. Dollars for votes, democratic votes. Multiply that by five and we're already up over half a trillion. But, we sure got the front door of the white house sealed against those costly school tours, LOL. Meanwhile, they're bemoaning sequestration (85 billion) like it rivals the black plague for it's dire consequences.

It happened. And no, Obama wouldn't of had to approve it.

You really don't mind a bit to speak with authority on matters you know nothing about. This is his administration, he is commander-in-chief, (just ask him). Every dime that gets spent during his administration, especially after the first year, is his responsibility either directly or indirectly. He or one his his charges, approved the construction if it happened.

It happened, and he doesn't know about every dollar spent.

Congress appropriated the money, and they spent it.

The congress is part of his administration and they together are to be held responsible for the federal budget but, you're right. He doesn't know where every dollar has been spent. Most of his attention when spending money is directed at ill advised stimulus plans and fully or partially funding organizations like the following;

1.Evergreen Solar ($25 million)*
2.SpectraWatt ($500,000)*
3.Solyndra ($535 million)*
4.Beacon Power ($43 million)*
5.Nevada Geothermal ($98.5 million)
6.SunPower ($1.2 billion)
7.First Solar ($1.46 billion)
8.Babcock and Brown ($178 million)
9.EnerDel’s subsidiary Ener1 ($118.5 million)*
10.Amonix ($5.9 million)
11.Fisker Automotive ($529 million)
12.Abound Solar ($400 million)*
13.A123 Systems ($279 million)*
14.Willard and Kelsey Solar Group ($700,981)*
15.Johnson Controls ($299 million)
16.Brightsource ($1.6 billion)
17.ECOtality ($126.2 million)
18.Raser Technologies ($33 million)*
19.Energy Conversion Devices ($13.3 million)*
20.Mountain Plaza, Inc. ($2 million)*
21.Olsen’s Crop Service and Olsen’s Mills Acquisition Company ($10 million)*
22.Range Fuels ($80 million)*
23.Thompson River Power ($6.5 million)*
24.Stirling Energy Systems ($7 million)*
25.Azure Dynamics ($5.4 million)*
26.GreenVolts ($500,000)
27.Vestas ($50 million)
28.LG Chem’s subsidiary Compact Power ($151 million)
29.Nordic Windpower ($16 million)*

:hilarious: No, the stimulus plans did not work. This is the weakest recovery in American history. How much worse could it have been without any so-called stimulus? The answer is that it could not have been any worse. When money is taken out of the economy and spent by the government, jobs are destroyed, not created.

Great sig! Many feel the that the economic indicators on which liberal/Keynesian economists hang their hats, are so thin as to be explained away as merely interpretive glitches in the data. Like being aboard the Titanic, and being told that it doesn't matter if the lower decks are steadily filling with ice cold sea water because the bars and other facilities on the promenade deck are still dry. The democrat rationale truly is ridiculous with regard to advising us to disregard the national debt trillions-O-meter, with numbers whirling so fast they are literally a blur.

And like the guy who owes 200 thousand dollars, but has a job which provides him with a gross pay of only 55 thousand a year. Something will have to give at some point. And similarly, our nation, like this guy, chooses to ignore the problem like it will somehow miraculously heal itself. Our national debt is on pace to reach the 20 trillion mark before Obama's term is done. Economists are banking (pun intended) that because we are always going to be among the world economic heavy weights, no country will ever be in a position to 'call in our note'. That may define Keynesian economics, but it is my definition of reckless behavior perfectly. I mean, America's new idea of a budget is to go all-in every year. If we don't wake up we won't survive.
