Liberals are a big feeling bunch, to be sure. That's the reason I posted several times on Nancy Pelosi's trip to see Yasser Arafat. Upon her ascension to "Speaker of the House", she flew over to the middle east to arbitrate between the PLO and the (legitimate) nation of Israel. An idea conceived and born of naivety, the whole thing was doomed to be a monumental waste of time and taxpayer dollars from the get-go. Ironically, the only person who failed to recognize that fact was Nancy who, upon her return to DC, triumphantly declared the long running feud, thanks to her shrewd timing and sincerity, to be over. Arbitrated and settled by her vision of heartfelt diplomacy in an historic diplomatic coup.

Like the "Yardbirds", she had a "heart full of soul." The only problem was that the imagined outcome of the trip was a complete fantasy. Yasser and the rest of the Arab World were left laughing at her remarkably weak grasp of reality. The point? Liberals, like John Lennon, dream of a utopian world where reaching out in sincerity reaps huge reward. Meanwhile, Kim Jung-un, Assad, Morsi, Hassan Rouhani, and Vladimir Putin it-al, are busy acting otherwise.

We'll all be very lucky if the world isn't very significantly different by the next presidential election, with the likes of John Kerry in charge of giving away the store. I mean, that's all we really do, throw money and expensive military hardware at those we want to influence.

In La-La Land, reality is reinterpreted, to reflect the liberal dream. That's how Dems who led the charge to invade Iraq, were later able to talk themselves out of believing they supported the war and voted to go to war. Therefore, all the recently forthcoming rhetoric in which, the 'global' condemnations are deemed to be sufficient to dispatch the evil Putin. That being the case, at 4pm today it will again be "Happy Hour."

Most people who would be great candidates fail to run. With your knowledge of the problems, and your ideas of implementation, you would be a great person to be in politics...as badly as I hate to say that. I was a naïve assistant to our state rep one time, years ago. It made me hate politics even more than I already did.

I think that is because of the shark infested waters of politics.

I agree. From what I can tell, it will either change you toward the negative or kill you out right.

Well, the truth is many politicians harbor feelings of superiority. The normal world doesn't accept that and therefore, those who are 'big feeling' are usually shunned. Not so in the political arena where all bets are off, as is being continually evidenced by the rash of exposes with regard to corruption, fraud, and ill advised sexual forays.

The problem doesn't have the first thing to do with being a Dem or a Republican either. Arrogant self exceptionalism leads many politicians to wrongly suppose they are special enough to defy tradition and history. Add to that the fact that there is only one way, outside of legal prosecutions, to keep these guys in check. That being the voter. Note, the Dem's party platform is damning enough to sink their ship, in and of itself.

So, given that the low information voter's bent for self gratification is being continually slaked by power loving politicians, we see a kind of self perpetuating engine of mutual predation. Takers need free stuff and Dems need votes. I like to think of this situation as Vampire World. When the vampires first showed up, there were millions of normal folks out there to get blood from. However, the exponential increase in vampire activity soon leveled the field and now we see there are more vampires than prey. Soon the normal folks will be so few the vampires will find themselves without the blood supply they need and infighting will inevitably ensue. That's when we will see the infamous words of Margaret Thatcher verified once again. "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money."

BTW, I would add that for the reasons outlined above, it would seem to make perfect sense for Americans to welcome candidates who espouse long accepted traditional values and even strong Christian faith. Here in bizarro world however, we find that such values are openly pooh-poohed by liberals who, brag up sexually depraved wantoness and infanticide. And, thanks to the fact that the world seems to be bursting at the seams, we see how the warped liberal mindset, having finally ascended to American leadership, is woefully shortsighted and naïve.

As I have mentioned in the past, the Democrat party is made up of a group of unlikely special interest groups which comprise a kind of political zoo. I've listed them before but, they are the gays, abortion on demand activists and adherents, illegal immigrants and their enablers, the so-called poor, global warming alarmists, Keynesian economists, pacifists, PETA, plant rights groups, isolationists, anti-colonialists such as Bill Ayers who just hate America, labor, unions and the list goes on and on.

So, under the auspices of the present administration, we see a kind of social terraforming going on. Even though efforts to legislate, traditionally minded Americans into subjection have been very effective, things are still proceeding too slowly to suit the palate of the progressive. After all, likely in three years the jig will be up on the liberal lunar express and it takes time to keep shopping the liberal agenda around in an effort to find the 'right' judge. So, the various federal agencies (IRS, EPA etc) are presently writing regulations at a head spinning rate. Such makes the one two punch of folks looking to circumvent our system of checks and balances in the time allotted to them.

You left out the communists. Confusednicker:

Funny thing is, the democrats actually were endorsed by the communist party last election - of course, if the republican is endorsed by the NRA, that makes them the ones who are considered communists according to the media.

Yeah, the left has been diligently trying to create a new world view about the dynamics behind what constitutes right wing and left wing politics for some time now. For example, many folks alive today remember the horror of fiends like Adolf Hitler, who, pegged the left-O-meter so hard it would make your eyeballs bleed. None the less, liberal progressives have held Adolf out to be a right wing extremist, even though he espoused the same tenets of social justice the left does today.

Consequently, they went off their rails when Hillary Clinton suggested that Putin took a page out of Hitler's book when he invaded the Crimean Peninsula, under the pretense of protecting Russian nationals. Obama loving liberals were outraged that Hill would contradict her former boss's opinion on the invasion in such a public fashion. After all, how can we expect to talk the wild eyed pistol waving Putin into playing nicey, nicey, if we dare to call him out for his illegitimate acts of war? That's the pacifist MO. Talk sweetly and instead of carrying a "big stick", take a pen and a check book so you can buy him off somehow.

But, I digress. You're post is exactly right and it's the Dem's Pee Wee Herman school of reverse psychology tactic of lore at work, once again. When called out by conservatives for their indiscretions, any liberal worth his salt will say, "I know you are but what am I?"
