Just sayin it, don't make it so

Is it really possible to compartmentalize areas of one's life as modern Dems insist? Rep John Conyers (D) MI, Rep Sheila Jackson Lee (D) TX, Rep Maxine Waters (D) CA, Rep Barney Frank (D) NY, Rep Chuck Schumer (D) NY, and other notable Dems said exactly that while they were spearheading the party line to that end, during impeachment proceedings for Bill Clinton. And what was Bill's greatest dereliction with regard to his oath of office? Lying to the country and the world at large of course, as was later duly evidenced thanks to his conviction of perjury and subsequent disbarment. Incredibly, that outcome was regarded as a victory by the DNC spin machine of the day. A sitting president fined for perjury by a federal judge then to be summarily defrocked by no less than the SCOTUS. Only a Democrat could say that was a victory but, that is exactly what all those mentioned above said. Any wonder why no scandal is too salacious for the DNC spin machine to gloss over?

So, here we are working on the 3rd decade of a new norm of what may be considered to be acceptable presidential indiscretions, and where are we? According to CBS, a recent poll indicates that fully 80% of Americans don't trust their federal government. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/poll-mos...st-government/

Unfortunately, that distrust doesn't magically stop at US borders. The rest of the world gets our news every day just like we do and therefore, experiences the same level of contempt. As a result, we see China flexing her muscles in defiance of our long standing treaty with Japan. We see Iran totally pull the wool over the administration's eyes in the recent foreign policy ruse, which they called, nuclear negotiations. Vladimir Putin as much as laughed in Sec of State John Kerry's face when he said the following, "it would be deeply troubling if Russia and China did not detain Edward Snowden at our request". Guess what John? It's time to get "deeply troubled."

Lying has it's consequences. Nobody and I mean nobody respects a liar. We drew a figurative "red line" and even lowly Syria barged right on across it. And how did the US save face? POTUS said; “I didn't set a red line, the world set a red line”. I got two words for him, VIDEO TAPE. The US has lost all respect in the world, thanks to the legacy of Bill Clinton. Though admittedly, one would think he was a miracle working political rock star by the way his indiscretions have been starched and pressed into something to be awed. How far we have fallen. Since America has chosen to reject the truth, we have ourselves become victims of the lie.
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 (KJV)
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Or as secular wisdom has it; "Stand for something or fall for anything." Chaplain Peter Marshall- 1947

That action of wagon circling by the Dems of the Clinton era, is what first awakened me to the fact that they were openly, and unashamedly willing to lie to get the result they want. I listed several members of the Democrat Black Caucus led by John Covyers (D) MI (above), who were among those who most prominently participated in Clinton's defense.

Congressman Elijah Cummings (D) MD, has IMO, managed similarly in this day, to turn the congressional investigation into the alleged wrongdoings of the IRS, as is applicable to the unfair targeting of conservative 501 ©(4) groups, into a circus. It's deja vu, as IMO, the machinations, stonewalling and the protestations of the Dems, both in the impeachment proceedings of Clinton and the IRS scandal, are identical. Once again we see lots of smoke and mirrors, mock indignation and yelling, being substituted for substance and a commitment to serve the common good by Democrats.

Republicans have gotten ever so close to answering every question with the help of attorneys like Jay Sekulow of the ACLJ. So, likely the yelling will only get worse as will the calls by Dems to skewer the careers of Republicans who dare to challenge them.
