How do I delete an "undeletable" file?
#1
Have you have ever tried to delete a file and windows tells you the file is currently in use by another program and can not be deleted. Heres the solution for deleting those stubbon files..

Open a Command Prompt window and leave it open. (you can do this by typing "cmd" inside of run and pressing enter) Close all open programs. Click Start, Run and enter TASKMGR.EXE Go to the Processes tab and End Process on Explorer.exe. Leave Task Manager open. Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory of the undeletable file. At the command prompt type DEL <filename> where <filename> is the file you wish to delete. Go back to Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the GUI shell. Close Task Manager

This works especially well for those spyware and adware programs that can't be removed by programs. Occasionally you may run across a file that, even though you remove it from startup with Hijack this or similar program, will put itself back. This, in my opinion, is the best way to get rid of it.
