1. Shelby valley- Great start at 5-0 with wins over Johnson central and prestonsburg. Valley is back on top early in the season.

2. Johnson Central- Still a power in the region and i expect this team to be in familiar areas by the end of the season.

3. Magoffin Co- Solid team and great gaurd play with howard being the key to the team.

4.East ridge- Only loss coming to JC. East ridge can really shot the ball and plays well as a team.

5. Pikeville- This team has great size but the guard play is questionable at times. Plus a tough loss to a struggling belfry team.

6. South Floyd- A surprise in the region as of now. Could drop off by the end by as of now great team play.

7. paintsville- Quality team with great guard play.

8. Betsy layne- Has improved from last season

9. Belfry- Great win over pikeville but a bad loss to start the season to an injury stricken team in sheldon clark.

10. sheldon clark- As stated above the team in hurt by injury but has managed to get a few wins and play thru.

Surprises as of week 3: South floyd, lawrence co, east ridge, betsy layne
disappointments: prestonsburg, pike central

With all the injuries to key players from different schools it's going to shake things up with exception to the first two both are solid but after that it's wide open. I look for a sleeper to come around before the year is out maybe an ER if they can keep it together they usually start out good but get burned out or something by mid season
