Johnson Central's Geordon Blanton has been named the 2017 Dr. Rudy J. Ellis Sports Medicine Center Male Athlete of the Year.

The award will be presented June 1st during the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame in Louisville @ the Crowne Plaza.


If there was any doubt of who the best All-Around athlete in JC's history, this settles the argument.

This may be my own lack of knowledge about the wrestling season, but, what kept him from playing basketball? That seems to be a pretty standard sport for kids to play, and he's obviously quite the athlete. Is it a scheduling issue with wrestling or what?

Geordon's dad had him on a wrestling mat when he was in the nursery.....

I remember seeing Geordon at wrestling practice and wrestling meets since before he was in Kindergarten.

Male Athlete of the Year in Kentucky. Given to those that are able get it done in multiple sports instead of one. Kentucky Farm Bureau used to be the naming sponsor but it is now under a different name.
