Javanon U18 team reaches title game

Despite a loss on Friday, the Louisville-based Javanon Soccer Club's U18 91s squad will play for a national championship on Sunday.


Javanon lost 3-2 to South Carolina's DSC Green on in a pool-play match of the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships in Lancaster, Mass.
Javanon finished 1-1-1 to earn second place in its four-team pool and will get a rematch with first-place DSC Green (3-0) in Sunday's national championship game at 7:45a.m.
Javanon is searching for its third national championship, having won titles in 1997 (U16) and 2006 (U19).
Javanon took a 1-0 lead in Friday's match when Vinny Paiva (Lafayette High School/University of Kentucky) scored in the 29th minute. After two second-half goals by DSC Green's Juan Velasquez, Javanon's Jacob Kemper (Oldham County/UK) tied the score at 2 with a goal in the 67th minute.
DSC Green's Crayton Benson scored the game-winner in the 75th minute. DSC Green outshot Javanon 15-14.
Javanon's U17 92s team lost 1-0 to North Carolina's Triangle United on Friday and finished 0-3 in pool play. Javanon was outshot 8-5.
Triangle United will face California's CZ Elite in the championship game

Javanon is one of those teams that you just fear no matter the age group or tournament no matter your from you do not want them in your braket spells for an early exit
