Kentucky going Nuclear?
#1
Is it true that the Kentucky has passed regulations for Nuclear Power Plants?

If so what does that mean for the Kentucky Coal Industry? Short Term and Long Term?

Everyone should eventually go nuclear if it means cheaper cost.

As for the coal industry, it means nothing in the short term. Mines are opening back up and im seeing more coal moving now than it has in years.

The problem has never been long term. you would have to be really naïve to believe coal is sustainable forever. Even if no cheaper alternatives were provided, coal would eventually run out hundreds of years down the road.

The problem is not replacing the economy in this part of the country after coal leaves. That is why it is okay long term. By the time nuclear really takes off, the state should have new industry to provide jobs. If not, that's on them.

In short, its never been about the future decline of the coal industry. That is inevitable. It was the complete cold turkey shut down of the socialist that left office in January.
