#1
OMAHA, Neb. --- Ronnie Harrell Jr. and Marcus Foster combined for 43 points as the Creighton men's basketball team bounced back with an 80-63 victory over No. 19 Seton Hall on Wednesday, Jan. 17th.

Harrell bested his previous career high of 15 points by shooting 8-for-11 and recording 18 points against the Pirates, while Foster became Creighton's 40th member of the 1,000 point club in the victory while scoring a game-high 25 points.

Creighton won for the 10th time in 12 games, improving to 15-4 on the season, and into a tie for second place with a 5-2 BIG EAST record. Meanwhile Seton Hall fell to 15-4 overall and is 4-2 in conference play. Creighton improves to 12-0 inside of CenturyLink Center Omaha this season, never trailing in the contest.

The Bluejays opened the game looking to avenge their loss to Seton Hall on Dec. 28th in New Jersey, scoring the first eight points of the contest to claim a 15-4 lead going into the first media timeout of the game. Foster and Khyri Thomas accounted for 13 of the team's 15, connecting on all five of their shots in the game's first 4:22. A 5-0 run out of the timeout extended the Bluejay lead to 20-4, before a layup by Myles Powell with 12:54 finally ended the Pirate's scoring drought of just over three minutes.

The Bluejays rode out a Pirate comeback with tough defense and turnovers to keep a 35-24 lead going into the final media timeout of the first half. A Harrell layup with six seconds ended an 8-0 run from Seton Hall as the Bluejays took a 39-32 lead into intermission.

The second half began just like the opening part of the contest as the Bluejays used a 9-2 run to push their lead back over double digits at 48-34 (17:24). The Pirates never recovered, trailing by double-digits the rest of the way.

Up 60-47 with 11:05 remaining, the Bluejays put the game away with a 7-0 run. Foster ignited his team with a trey from the right corner, then Harrell turned a steal into a highlight reel layup by wrapping the ball around his waist before the finish. The run was capped by a two free throws from Toby Hegner as he drew a flagrant foul from Seton Hall's Angel Delgado to give the Bluejays their largest lead of the game at 67-47 (8:27).

Foster finished the contest with a team-high 25 points, giving him 1,002 as a Bluejays. Harrell (18) scored a career-high, while Hegner (12) and Thomas (11) also finished the night in double figures. Davion Mintz added seven assists without a turnover, and now owns 19 assists against just one miscue in his last four contests.

Powell paced Seton Hall with 19 points, adding two steals. Seton Hall's senior trio of Desi Rodriguez, Khadeen Carrington entered the night averaging a combined 46.6 points per game, but they would score 12 total as each man had just four points. Delgado was also held to four rebounds in the contest, nearly eight less than his league-leading average of 11.7 per game.

Creighton closed the game shooting 51.7 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from trey, while the Bluejay defense held Seton Hall to only 38.1 percent from the field.

The Bluejays return to action on Saturday, Jan. 20 as Creighton travels to Providence, R.I., to face the Friars in BIG EAST action at 2 p.m. Central. The game will air on CBS Sports Network and on 1620 AM (KOZN).
